Looking for success stories

I’m feeling a little deflated and I’m hoping you lovely humans can share some success stories with me.

We had egg collection today. Despite having a high AMH (50.9) and PCOS they only retrieved five eggs, with two of the larger follicles being empty. For context, I’m 35 and we’re having ICSI due to male factor.

I’m so worried that the eggs won’t be mature or won’t fertilise! Does anyone have success stories where they have had a similar number? I know it only takes one but I’m worried about the drop off.

Thank you in advance!

24 follicles, 16 collected, 9 mature, 3 fertilised. 3 bfps and two little boys. It really doesn’t matter about the numbers, you’re either lucky or you aren’t, unfortunately it’s that simple. There’s people on here with higher numbers and no bfps ans those who ended up with only one collected and a bfp from it. It’s so hard but hang tight, your one step closer either way xx

first round 6 eggs collected, 2 mature, 1 fertilised and that 1 made it to blastocyst

Second round 15 eggs collected, 9 mature, 6 fertilised 3 made it to blastocyst. 2 now in freezer.

Unfortunately first round transfer bfn and first transfer from second round bfn.

Good luck xxx

First collection 6 eggs, 3 mature, 2 fertilised, 1 early blast.

Second collection 4 eggs, 3 mature, 3 fertilised, 1 4BB frozen blastocyst.

Hang in there, the waiting is tough xx

We did Icsi due to male factor, got 5 eggs, all mature, 3 fertilised and all made it to blast, first transfer was a bfp but ended in a MMC at 9 weeks, currently pregnant with second transfer too and all going well!

Just keep the hope its all about the quality!

I don't have a success story to share with you :( Unfortunately with the male factor (husband has NOA) is a little tricky to compare with how many eggs have been collected. In my case there was plenty of eggs (36) but only 4 sperms found to do ICSI. 1 fertilised and made it to blastocyst and resulted in a BFN. So here we are, thinking of starting all over. Sending you positive vibes, hang in there xx

I’m so sorry to hear this, I thought our sperm count was low! Can’t imagine how difficult that must be. Is there any chance of sperm count improving? Wishing you luck on the next part of your journey! X

That's a very good question and it's exactly what we are trying to find out. Thank you, you too xx

Hi lovely. It's horrible when you have expectations during IVF and then they're suddenly dashed. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I did two cycles (also for male factor) and the most eggs I ever got in one go was 5 (I had 4 in the first round). After hearing stories of people getting 15-20 eggs, I was devastated, but from a total of 9 eggs, we ended up with 5 reasonable-grade embryos (and one of those is my now my 16-month-old daughter!). You never know with IVF. Those 5 eggs could be good quality eggs! I hope so. Wishing you so much luck.
