Day 5 of stims

Hi,I'm on day 5 of stims for my first IVF cycle (and started ganirelix today as well). Anybody else at a similar stage?

I have my first monitoring scan and blood test tomorrow and am excited but nervous. It feels as though the novelty of daily injections has already worn off (not helped by the fact that today's were both quite painful for some reason!)

It's almost like I've lost sight of why we're doing this. Because hoping and dreaming has been too painful when things haven't worked out, so instead I feel kind of detached from it all. There is a level of excitement, I think, but overall it feels very medical and not very emotional. Anyone else feeling the same way?

Hi SquishyBean , I’m on day 9 of stims, have my third monitoring scan tomorrow!

Trying to stay positive and focussed but it’s hard, especially when the journey has been so difficult. Fingers crossed tomorrow goes well for you!

Best of luck! How have your scans gone so far? Is this your first IVF cycle?

First cycle, last two scans showed plenty of follicles growing but slowly. I was started on a low dose due to PCOS. This will be my first scan since meds were upped so feel a bit anxious - hoping they’ve grown lots! 🤞🏼

Ooh, I also have PCOS! I've been more worried about overstimulation, haven't even thought about understimulation! Which stim meds are you on? I'm on Gonal F 150iu

I felt like that each of both of my collections, and each day's injections go better or worse than the day before. But if you're already on day 5 you're nearly half way through. Hope you've got treats lined up for after eachinjection and that your scan goes well tomorrow. After that 1st scan you know how many folicals you are growing and that brings more realism to it, you want to keep them going. Good luck with the rest of the cycle.
