I found out I am CMV positive, does this mean the donor sperm has to be positive as well? Hoping for good news for you all today xx

Donor sperm CMV status
No that means you could chose a donor who is either positive or negative which open things up for you choice wise.
Although my clinic never tested for CMV so I don't know my status, my donor was CMV positive. Some clinics are more bothered by this than others.
no as said above that means you can choose either as you are already positive. Even if your status is negative you can choose either as well you might have to sign an extra consent though to say you are fine with that xx
Hi Running. You can have either positive or negative.m. Good luck. Diane
hi, I am CMV negative and have a positive donor but the clinics seem not bothered by it at all. I had IVF rather than IUI so was never in contact with the actual sperm if that makes a difference? I’m not sure?
I had a very healthy pregnancy and healthy baby. I used the same donor again and asked about it again and the clinic said they are not worried.
CMV positive means you have more choice of donors. Most donors are positive (in my experience). If you are CMV positive you can have either positive OR negative donors. If you are CMV negative you can only have CMV negative donors. So this is a good thing 😊
