Struggling during 2ww - 10 days post trigger shot (5k dose)

Yeah so that's basically it. Just finding it super hard to be patient at the moment. We are going away for the weekend so I thought of testing before that (was thinking of having a little drink, nothing major just a social thing as we do not usually drink, sometimes for months in a row) and it's very clearly positive but the clinic said it must be from the shot. I was feeling hopeful before but now that they've said it I feel like it'll fail again. Idk how to cope. The wait is so hard. It's been 2 yrs now but I still can't get used to this. Of course it's my second medicated cycle and first cycle with trigger shot (5k dose) so I was hopeful but then idk what happens to me towards the end I just completely start losing it and start feeling extremely negative all over again. I know there are ladies here who have gone through so much worse and I really admire you for your strength. I feel stupid feeling this way so early on.How do you guys do it? I just really need to find some strength.

Hey lovely,

If you're 10 days post trigger (5000) I would imagine it would be out of your system by now. It's said to half each day, so working backwards from 5000 it should be between 4 - 10mnol HCG in your blood from the trigger. Which is only really readable on an early test and probably would be quite a faint line.

Don't want to get your hopes up for nothing but I would be asking for a blood test at this stage.

Thank you for your reply. Took a test this morning and it's still very obviously there. I've only been using the £1 cheapies but even then it's very clear so I really hope you are right. They said they only do bloods after cd35 so I'm just gonna have to wait xx

how many days past transfer are you? Was it a fresh or frozen transfer? The trigger shot can take up to 14 days to clear but for most it is gone by 10 days (for me that was 3-4 days past transfer when it went and then a darker line started to appear). If the line is a strong one it would be unlikely to be the trigger shot but testing again to see if it’s getting darker or lighter after a day or so should give you a wee bit more clarity 🤞🏽 xx

Hi thank you for your reply. It was timed intercourse actually. I'm only using the £1 cheapies but even then I can see it clearly. I will keep checking for progression every day like you suggested xx
