NHS Scotland/poor quality embryo

Hey, I'll soon be doing my last FET of round 1 on NHS, I'm expecting transfer to take place mid March and blood test end of March. I'm fully expecting this not to work based on it being a poor quality embryo (either 4BB or 4BD didnt actually catch the info properly on the phone), I'm wondering about other people's experiences in Scotland, how long did you wait between your final HCG blood test confirming negative, and starting your next round of stims injections? Can it start straight away if there is space or do they advice to wait a few months? I'm keen to keep going as the waiting causes me alot of stress! Also has anyone had any success with a similar graded embryo? X

I’d ask them the grading to put your mind at ease as 4BB is not a bad grade and in my NHS Scotland board they didn’t freeze D’s. You usually have to wait at least a withdrawal bleed then a full period to start - or I did. I did 6 transfers in NHS Scotland so feel free to DM any time.

Thank!! I'm wondering if Ive got the grading mixed up and thought 4 was worse than 3..there was also a 3 something perhaps that's the one that's left! Il need to check this, I'm so hopeless at keeping up with it all! Can I ask did u move away from NHS eventually or have a successful transfer?💗 Xx

We didn’t have success in our NHS cycles - although we had excellent care. We’ve now moved to a different clinic x

Thank you! I should add though that we are a particularly complex case - don’t want to make you think NHS can’t work, we were a tough case to work out.

Thank you, I've found them ok so far but do think they offer a pretty standard service compared to private, given it's all funded which I'm so grateful for, I will hope for the best and I've still got two cycles to go then will maybe move on after that if not successful 💗

I have a 3BB, perhaps it's that one that's left! X

clinics don’t usually deem grade D as suitable for freezing, so I recon you have a 4BB, which is not poor, to the contrary- it’s pretty good! My transfer of 3BB resulted in my beautiful girl. Higher grades failed.

I agree with the others, clinics don't usually freeze Ds. You're still young, so a BB at your age theoretically has more chances than an AA of a 40+ year old for example.I had all 3 NHS cycles (Glasgow) and I found they wanted a withdrawal bleed and a following period before they allowed me to book another cycle. So if my withdrawal bleed was in March I was supposed to phone with April's period and booked in to start in May. I have found that this wasn't an absolute rule and it could vary depending on if it was a retrieval or a FET. In my last cycle with them which was a FET I was allowed to start with my withdrawal bleed after loads of discussions. Long story, but by that point I wanted to finish with them and they with me.

Thank u 💗 I think it's a 3BB but can't work out how to edit my original post lol to be honest i want to do the next egg retrieval asap to see if the supplements im taking and diet changes have a positive impact, noone will be more shocked than me if the next transfer works so I have zero expectation - although i know nearer the time il probably have the usual 2WW anxiety 😵‍💫 my clinic (EDi) did a similar thing...said to wait for withdrawal bleed then another period after my first two transfers but then were allowing me to do do a next transfer after withdrawal bleed only, unfortunately i couldnt get them on the phone on time this time (so annoying) xx

It can be frustrating when communication with the clinic isn't great. I hope your next transfer goes well! All the best x

I had a 4BB transferred in my first fresh cycle and he’s now 3.5 years old so please don’t worry. I’ve just had a 2BB transferred as a FET and trying so hard not to obsess over the gradings but it is all so subjective and they wouldn’t transfer anything that had no chance so just got to keep everything crossed! Wishing you lots of luck x
