We are hopefully starting IVF very soon with Create fertility. I always have my nails done but I’m reading mixed experiences about whether I can have them on during egg collection/transfer.
Has anyone had treatment with Create and can tell me whether they would have to be removed or not?
Thanks in advance!

hiya, if you have acrylic nails, I would say you need to remove them. They have to put something on your finger to monitor you while you’re having eggs collected and the layer of acrylic wouldn’t be able to give them a reading. I think the chemical may be an issue too.
I removed my gel nail polish and although they didn’t check/say anything, you just never know. But I think the mixed response is more in gel nails or polish. With acrylics, I’d defo remove. It’s only short term and then you can treat yourself with a new set afterwards 😊 all the best x
need to be off for collection I’m afraid some consultants will allow one off for the monitoring if you are lucky so maybe ask locally as that might save you some money.
I am super paranoid though and don’t wear anything so they can see clearly what’s happening if they need to while I’m sedated xx
I wasn’t allowed to have anything on my nails at all, also no make up, no perfumed products, nothing additional on my skin that could potentially cause any contamination x
I was with create and was told no perfume makeup or fragranced soaps etc when showering. However I had acrylic nails on for both collection and transfer, purely because I couldn’t get them soaked off in time. I did remove from toes, as I know from previous non related surgery they can monitor you that way.
However nothing was said and they gave me stockings which covered my feet altogether. 3rd transfer I had light makeup on as it was late afternoon and I’d come from work. I brought cleanser to remove on arrival but was told it was fine.
