I go in for c section in 2 days (West Sussex England) and my nurses or midwifes haven’t said I can’t wear my false nails or make up at any of my appointments
Is that ok? Even going in for my steroid shots no one has said to not wear make up or my nails, so can I presume it’s fine?

Personally I wouldn't wear nails (coming from someone who has worn shellac for years). A caesarean is a major operation so they will be hooking you up to monitor your blood pressure/HR they will need to ensure an accurate reading on your index finger. I would remove all make up aswell, as believe it or not some products can be flammable, I've even been told vaseline is a no no!! I'd just always hedge on the side of caution for the sake of any hold ups when you get to hospital. Sorry not to scare you as I can imagine you being apprehensive about the section, but its only for a short time then you can go and pamper yourself when you're on the mend ❤
I wouldn’t wear anything to be honest. When I’ve had ops before your always told not to. I had an emergency c section but I wasn’t wearing anything anyway. Have you had a pre op? They will probably tell you then x
That’s strange as they have to monitor your oxygen levels and that’s why your not supposed to wear any varnish etc but I guess when emergencies happen they just have to go with it x
I had acrylics on and had an emergency c sec so they had to do it there was no other choice. Its so they can put the thing on your finger to see your oxygen levels. Mine was fine on my finger but if its not they can put it on your toes instead. Not sure about make up as i was in labour at the hospital for 3 days prior! X
