Hi I'm new to the group, I was referred here by a councilor. I'm struggling to conceive, I have endometriosis and have just found out I have low progesterone and very high prolactin so I've got to wait for another blood test to see what can be done from there. Anyone else in the same boat?
I'm new here :): Hi I'm new to the... - Fertility Network UK
I'm new here :)
Hi Elephant07 ❤️,I am sorry to hear about your experience, Your councillor did well referring you here.... This space has really helped me get through some stuff and made me feel not as alone (also super informative) . I dont share the same condition as you but atleast you know what the problems are which is something!!! I have been trying to conceive for a long time and I couldn't tell you what the definite problem is 100% (unexplained infertility 🤷♀️) hopefully someone here has experience with endometriosis to share with you.... I know that the hormonal part also ties in with the endo, the good thing is most hormonal inbalances are treatable.
I hope all goes quickly and smoothly for you Elephant07 ✨ and that your wish comes true soon 🤞all the best ❤️
No promises, but high prolactin can often be easily treated and then people get pregnant naturally and quickly. I think the progesterone could be connected to the prolactin. This is a known issue that they test for commonly during infertility panels. My friend had this and it was caused a small (benign) tumor and she got pregnant within 3 months of starting meds (pills). When she wants to get pregnant she takes the pills and soon after 2 lines. She's pregnant with her 4th! She had progesterone support during her first pregnancy, but hasn't needed it for the other 3.
I hope this is what you have as in the infertility world it's one of the better diagnoses as it's easy to treat and people have really good outcomes with a high probability of success 😀. If it turns out to be more complicated - welcome to the club and there are great warriors here to support you.
Good luck!
Welcome. This forum is a fantastic support and source of information - sounds like you have a very informed and helpful counsilor, which is great. I had endo from early teens and it's a pretty horrible thing to live with. I managed to treat it by being on the pill for 3 months at a time for about 15 years(!) but not a great option if you're TTC (although you have time). Even with the endo gone we had unexplained infertility and I had weird symptoms indicating something wasn't right, like spotting 5-10 days before period. Tends to be endo involves progesterone resistance/oestrogen dominance even when the physical symptoms have gone. It took a very long time to get someone to take this seriously, even in IVF, but I think progesterone support really helped and I did have success on our third IVF transfer with that. You could try that for a few months whilst still TTC naturally. And it can get better - my endo has never reappeared and after I had a baby my hormones all sort of reset and went to normal (no more spotting) and I conceived naturally for the first time ever. You have time and you can use the forum to ask anything or just vent x
