FET booked - lining 7.1

Hi All,

I managed to have my day 17 scan today and my lining finally got to 7.1mm. I know that they say that 8mm is optimal lining, my clinic did advise that anything 7 and above is good for transfer, especially as mine is at triple layer. I can't help but think the worst and think that the lining is still good enough?

Is this normal? Has anyone had success with a lining of 7?

Thank you :)

Hope you get some replies to your post that help reassure you Good sign that the clinic can see the triple layers - like pouting lips

Good luck with transfer

Hi there. I had a transfer in November and the day before transfer my lining had compacted down to 6mm after being 8mm a few days before. We did the transfer anyway and upped my estrogen and the transfer was successful! I'm currently 14 weeks pregnant with a miracle after 3 failed transfers and a miscarriage.

My clinic said not to worry too much about my lining as embryos unfortunately sometimes stick where there is no lining like a fallopian tube so a lining that is slightly thinner can still work.

I hope this gives you a little hope. Lots of luck to you with your transfer! Xx

hey, for all my transfers my lining as been between 7-8mm I’ve never got more. Think my last one was 7.4mm. (Even on a natural transfer so wonder if there is some variation of what is ‘normal’.) Also it is highly variable between nurses who measure it depending on the angle. In every transfer I’ve had implantation but miscarried later on so presume my lining is receptive but likely issues with embryo.

I believe there is a big drop off in success if <7mm but the difference between thicker linings isn’t as much as it gets greater than 7.

Hi lovely,

I've always struggled with my lining too - as long as it's over 7mm it is good to go :)

It will also keep growing between your last scan and your transfer.

I was monitored over a couple of years and my lining at its best was 6.3mm and at its worst was 4.8mm. I managed to conceive and have a baby boy. I wish you the best of luck. I know how hard this process can be. X
