Cyclogest - any tips for insertion

Does anyone know if there are any applicators out there for the cyclogest pessaries?. Struggling a bit as they seem to pop out not long after I have inserted one. Best lying down or standing?? Any tips anyone? I am trying to insert them vaginally. Thanks.

The best way is the backend hun. It's not easy I've just started using em this way but they dissolved quicker this way that's why I've chosen this way. I tried using the thrush application you get with it for front end but it didn't work.

Is it ok to do it backend? I was told for IVF it should be done vaginally? X

No you can use either end hun. I was using front but I had a bleed so I thought I might be irritating my cervix so chose to go backend. X

definitely do it lying down and stay lying down for 15 minutes. If you don't have that time, PR is probably better, although I did it a few times I just felt vaginally was better for absorption. Invest in lots of pantyliners!!!

I'm having the same problem! I just put it up as far as I can get it, then stay seated for about 15 minutes. I still get leakage though! I was a bit worried that I was losing some? X

Thanks for all the tips ladies! I just spoke to one of the nurses at my clinic and they prefer you to do it vaginally. She too said lie down for a bit after, but she said if I really have problems rushing off to work then you can do it at the back too and maybe alternate as i find the evening one is fine as I am just going to bed! She also they also can cause constipation so putting it at the back can make that worse. I am going to preserve with the front for now as I'm off for a few days so more time to lie down after, and see how it goes! All the best ladies! Xx

I find it easier to insert them while sitting on the loo, I usually sit or lie down afterwards! The things we have to do! 😬

Up the bottom with a little bit of KY jelly was the trick my clinic gave me, and it worked a treat! I was totally freaked out by the whole thing, but by the time it was sadly all over I was a pro! You don't get any discharge, and you don't have to lie down.... hope that helps! Good luck xx
