I’m about to start my first frozen cycle, and am feeling quite apprehensive.
I’ve previously done 2 fresh, the second which I have my little girl from and my frozen embryos are from that round too.
Is there any tips on lifestyle prep? With frozen because I already have the embryo I wasn’t sure whether I would be ok to have the odd glass of wine/ coffee or I need to cut everything.
Any tips on supplements other than standard vit D and folic acid?

Frozen is much easier and kinder to your body, All the best of luck ♡. It is probabaly recommended not to drink, but i went with the view of doing lots of things that make you happy to produce all the happy hormones. Having a couple of glasses over the festive period, won't harm you or impact your chances. All the best of luck!
Frozen transfers are less stressful on the body, my doctor has stated. I was told to avoid caffeine and alcohol for a while. Good luck! Hope it goes well. xx
I had a few nights with drinking right before the FET that was successful! (40th bday, Wedding & 50th!) Probabably drank more the week leading up to the FET than I usually would!!! X
Hi! Good luck with your FET. I have my daughter from our last FET. In addition to Vitamin D and Folic Acid, I also took Vitamin C, Zinc and probiotics - oral and vaginal. In the run up and after the FET I drank pomegranate juice to help with the lining and also ate Greek yoghurt with honey and walnuts. After the FET I switched to pregnancy vitamins. Very best of luck!
I have all you suggested on my list for pre next FET, but can I ask why the yoghurt and honey? I line this so adding it sounds great, just wondered the reasons? I don’t like walnuts but I do eat Brazil nuts after reading they can help - is it just nuts that are good?
Hi! Yoghurt for the natural probiotics, honey being anti-inflammatory and nuts contain useful nutrients. So from more of a traditional medicine and general well being perspective I am sure Brazil nuts will do just as well.
As others have said you will hopefully find the FET much more straightforward. It is certainly more relaxed than a fresh cycle. I've been advised to cut down caffeine from transfer day, but to be honest you can feel a bit rubbish when changing the drugs around transfer date so I tend to try to stick to the rules as much as possible before it just so I'm not making a change and dealing with caffeine withdrawal. I think you can have an odd glass of wine or a coffee without any problem in the early stages of FET 🙂 Fingers crossed it goes well for you!
I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, had two fresh cycles in 2019, second of which resulted in my now 3 year old daughter. I tried to start the transfer twice this year so far, but had a couple of issues which meant I had to cancel a week in to taking medications. Started again yesterday so hoping it's third time lucky. I actually went out for some drinks with friends last night but have bought in a lot of alcohol free stuff to have from now on, mainly because I quite like it anyway. I might have the odd alcoholic drink over the next few days but going to cut it right out after Xmas day.
My main worry is my weight isn't where I would like it (I'm overweight) but I don't want to keep delaying as I'm getting ever older! I had been unwell for a couple of months until November with a stress/dizziness thing, so got unfit, so trying to ramp that back up again before the transfer.
Only other thing I'm doing is a generic supermarket pregnancy vitamin and an extra folic acid and vitamin D.
I’m not sure if this helps or not , but I did 2 Accupuncture appointments before the FET plus one just 2/3 hours prior the transfer and one just after the transfer. I was alone in all the process , I drove to the clinic ,I had half an hour of relaxing music in my car before the transfer , after the transfer I drove for 40 min to my Accupuncture (with traffic in London) and now I have a one year old playing in my lap
for sure it helped with all the stress and my anxiety.
For the transfer that worked I cut out alcohol and caffeine (might have had one decaf) from cycle day 1. I had weekly acupuncture leading up to the transfer and one session straight after the transfer. I ate home cooked whole meals (I don’t eat gluten and dairy as my TSH levels can fluctuate) and drank pomegranate juice daily and ate beetroot daily, and something green with every meal. In terms of supplements I was taking a pre natal, omega 3,6,9, a vaginal probiotic, and a vitamin D supplement. I’ve heard walking is good to help lining, I did as much as I could. In the lead up to the cycle I enjoyed the summer with alcohol and wasn’t necessarily always eating the healthiest foods! Best of luck to you, I’ve never done a fresh transfer but I have heard that frozen transfers can be better as everything is more controlled. We have to be kind to ourselves and also live during this process otherwise life can become unbearable quite quickly, it can take multiple attempts Xx
