Frozen transfer : Has anyone had any... - Fertility Network UK
Frozen transfer
If I had my time again I wouldn't have done a fresh transfer - I would have much preferred a freeze all.
My clinic has better success with freeze all so it might be a blessing!
Xxx
My clinic certainly has higher frozen transfer rate compared to fresh so all is not lost. Good luck. You are probably better to freeze them and let ur ovaries settle to give u the best chance xx
I can imagine how disappointed you are as Im sure you geared yourself up for doing it all together but the important thing is you want to give yourself the best chance of success and not waste any precious embryos. Some clinic even report better success with frozen transfers as your body has had time to recover! Hugs.xx
Woa, this is new to me. So like specific success rate for older women there's now one for fresh vs frozen transfer success rate too. Though I'm not planning for an ART again anytime soon still thanks for sharing the info. We've been on a break for 2 years after several failed IVF attempts and only recently started medicated TTC not being able to accept the life without a child to cherish - hoping it'll happen if it has to happen. I guess there's much to catch up now.
The advantages of frozen transfer are plenty... so don't be worried if you miss out on a fresh one. As long as the frosties can take the thaw when you finally get scheduled up for FET it has more chance of success than a fresh transfer, especially if you're 35 or over. The fertility medications are demanding on your body... so the estrogen and progesterone to prepare you for transfer work much better without the medication of stimms in your system, which is only possible over frozen transfers. Lesser the medication hodgepodge lesser are the potential risk for side effects.
Don’t be disappointed. I had a fresh that didn’t work, had a frozen and now sat with my 5 week old baby boy in my arms. My clinic actually told me they have more success with frozen transfers xxx
Hi!
Please try not to stress my first fresh cycle didn’t work but my next frozen cycle did
Good luck! X
Fresh cycle didn’t work for me or my friends who went through IVF/ICSI - we all had our successes on frozen transfers!
If I was every lucky enough to go through a full cycle again I would bypass the fresh transfer completely and just go for frozen!
I can fully understand you feeling disappointed though, hold tight, let those ovaries calm down and be totally ready for a frozen transfer.
Best of luck 👍🏼 xxx
The same thing has happened to me today- 14 eggs collected but then told any which turn into embryos will all be frozen. This is due to my thin lining; so gutted and shocked to hear this as I don’t feel we were prepared for this potentially happening. It’s good to read such positive FET stories in these comments 😊
There’s some research underway to see whether frozen transfers are more successful than fresh ones- there is a theory that they are more likely to succeed because your body has chance to recover from the trauma of egg collection. A freeze all cycle was what worked for me.
Although I lost both my babies I’ve only ever got pregnant on frozen rounds, so I’m a fan! your body is far more chilled out (pardon the pun!) but I remember being told at the last minute it was a freeze all and I was furious and gutted, but just try and use the next few weeks to be kind to your body x wishing you lots of luck xxx
Thankyou all x you’ve gave me a bit of hope again
Hey Smudge, I was given opportunity to freeze all and in hindsight should have taken it as I really wasn't in good shape for the fresh transfer I had. Was to keen!
It can seem a long wait but give yourself time to properly heel.
Hopeful for you when the time comes! xx
