17 day menstrual cycle?!

I was not due to come on my period for another 10 days and low and behold i came on in the middle of Thorpe Park! Ive never had a cycle this short as ive been keeping track for 4 years! 27 day average cycle length. Im supposed to be having another ICSI cycle in October but this has worried me. Should i be concerned?! X

I don’t think you need to be concerned as you are having treatment again soon. I have had one 17 day cycle too and given my low amh, I’m guessing this is due to my age. Apparently as your amh level declines, your body compensates by not releasing an egg every month. I’m guessing you didn’t ovulate this month is all xx

Yes i was thinking ive probably not ovulated this time around. I will monitor it for next month but gonna start taking my vitamins too in readiness for October X

Thanks Diane. Yes they've emailed me suggesting i start the contraceptive pill to regulate my cycle not sure what to do at the min x

Hi - I had a very short one too - 15 days - a few months ago, was very surprised, but then things got back on track and the cycle after that was not bad at all! Good luck!! xx

Thankyou. My last cycle was a bit weird as i was on for a day and then stopped and it restarted again very light. This one is a proper full on period x

Good luck. Yes btw I know that some doctors use the pill to regulate to the cycle as part of the hormonal therapy to prepare the endometrium... it's meant to take the stress out of even have to worry about when/whether the period will come... Best wishes! xxx
