cold/cough/flu symptoms on day of FET

Hi everyone, just had my 4th FET, no success so far but hoping my recent fallopian tube removal has done the trick and I’ll implant this time 🤞 the annoying thing is after all the failed transfers and last one cancelled when they discovered liquid on my ovary leading to the laproscopy showing a blocked tube, I can down with a cough and a cold a couple of days ago and yesterday and today my body aches and my face feels hot. It’s not full on fever yet, I don’t think, I’m not shivering and don’t have the sweats and the nurse at the clinic this morning said she doesn’t think I have a fever. I told the doctor and the nurse about my cough and cold and they said we were fine to continue with the FET.

im thrilled it went ahead but am worrying incase I have a fever or the cough/cold develops into a fever. I’m taking paracetamol sparingly, just had a tea with lemon and honey and am drinking lots of water and gargled salt water earlier so as to not overdose on lozenger.

anyone else had anything similar going into FET and is there anything else I can do? Finding the balance between resting and not spending the whole time sitting on the couch is also a tough one!

Hi ToffEeLou. Hopefully your little one will be protected in your womb, and your tube removal will add to success. I really hope so. Take some paracetamol if needed, but no anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Try hot honey and lemon and drink plenty of fluids too. Thinking of you and hope for success. Diane

Thanks Diane. That’s basically what I’ve been doing. The aches and hot face have subsided so it’s just the sore throat now. Hopefully that will go soon too and I’ll have a positive test 🤞
