Following a recent failed FET 😢 I discussed with my consultant whether I should have another hysteroscopy.
The consultant said my medical insurance provider may cover it as long as it’s not for fertility reasons. E.g. that my doctor thinks I might have scar tissue.
Has anyone managed to successfully claim for a hysteroscopy on medical insurance and on what basis?
Thank you xxx

Hello, I recently had a hysteroscopy covered by AXA health insurance.
It was covered because I had a small fibroid so my GP agreed to write me a referral letter. The gynaecologist I was referred to classified my treatment as general gynaecology rather than fertility specific, meaning it was covered by AXA.
I expect once you can get that referral from a GP then a sympathetic gynaecologist will want to help or treat you. Best of luck x
Great! The gynaecologist I saw was really sympathetic and supportive of the private health insurance claim, so fingers crossed yours will be! My process was also really quick - appt was only two weeks after the referral x
