Waiting on AF for FET cycle

Hi, so I was due for AF yesterday 25/10, to then inform my clinic and start my medications in preparation for FET but still not any sign of it. Not even any tinted discharge. Is it right that it’s once there is fresh red blood? I have tested and BFN so not sure what’s happening.

Just to add I had 4 months of Prostap overlapping stimulation injections so didn’t bleed since April, then had one period since my fresh embryo transfer, was previously regular 31 days prior to all of my treatment. It’s just so frustrating as delaying things further. Literally the only time I’m ever hoping for AF to show 🤦🏼‍♀️ anyone else waiting on AF for FET or been in the same boat? xx

hi baby dust wishing you all the best of luck ! Try to relax and sleep well as that can also have an impact. I was on the same boat waiting for it on the 12th but didn’t show up until a few days later. hopefully yours will come soon too, just try not to worry too much about it. I hope everything goes very well for you !

I'm having the opposite. Not booked in to start until early November and suddenly felt all PMTish this week. Panicked it would come too early so have got all my consent paperwork sorted tonight just in case! Fingers crossed it starts soon (for you!)🤞

@Babydust23 I hope AF is showing her face. As suspected I had some blood when I went to the loo this morning - not enough to be classed as AF yet but likely she will be visiting in the next couple of days. Let's hope the clinic has space for me a week early... 🙈 How come cycles are regular as clockwork for years and the one time you actually need it to be on time...!

(I had this in my first cycle too. Me at my first nurses appointment: "I have tracked my cycles meticulously for the last 7 years and they are always 29 or 30 days, never less than 28 and never more than 32".

AF: "We will see about that!" Queue shortest cycle I've ever had at 25 days... 🤣)

Hi WillowPark . Oh goodness me, you expected it would come early didn’t you. At least it means you should be able to start your cycle earlier :)

Well no update from me, AF still hasn’t shown. Tested this morning and BFN. So strange. CD35 today, hoping I don’t miss this cycle completely 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m trying not to think about it or put more stress onto myself but it’s easier said than done isn’t it.

it’s always the case periods like clockwork until you need them to be for treatment! I think stressing about it delays it more for me personally so try to relax they should be here soon but if not here by a fortnight phone the clinic as they have ways to kick start things for you xx

This is so true, alway like clockwork and now when I needed it to start it’s late. I’m on CD35 today and still no show. Thank you I will ring the clinic if it’s two weeks like you say. Although would they still go ahead with the treatment then that cycle or wait for another cycle when it has come naturally? Xx

Yeah they should do as it’s about having a fresh lining before FET so if they need to induce the period then down reg it shouldn’t matter how it started but the clinics and protocols are all different so best to chat to them. Still lots of time for it to start naturally xx

My clinic say first day of full flow. If it’s frozen transfer then hopefully it shouldn’t matter too much when it starts, although I feel your frustration. I was waiting for mine to start this last cycle and of course it was late! Hope AF shows up soon so you can get cracking! 🙏🏼

the best of luck to you! It could be a slight delay, but also I was in a similar situation and had a hormonal ovarian cyst that delayed my periods for 2 weeks.. it’s best to see a doctor, and do a scan.

Thank you Katsi, hopefully just a slight delay but if it continues I will ring the clinic. Sorry to hear about your cyst x
