I’ve just suffered a second BFN from my second round of a fresh transfer.
I have my WTF appointment on Monday 26th, and would love some advice/guidance on what to do next.
Are there any specific questions to ask about a FET? (I’ve never had one).
Natural or Medicated cycle preferable?
I sadly had AF show up exactly mid way through both the 2WW, so does this mean implantation isn’t happening at all? Or is progesterone not supporting my lining?
Sorry about all the questions, I just want to be armed with as much information as possible.
I love this community, it’s so special.
Xx

Sorry to hear about your BFN. I have also failed 2nd fresh transfer not long ago and will be getting ready for the FET in January. I have opted for medicated FET. My consultant said that the main cause for implantation failure is the abnormal embryo. We had a top quality put in though and my consultant said to cover all possibilities I could consider doing NK cells tests - blood and uterine biopsy. I have not decided what to do yet. The tests are very expensive.
My lining and progesteron were apparently perfect. I was on progynova, pessaries and injectable progesteron.
Can I ask what grade were your embryos that you had transferred?
I hope your appointment brings you some answers. Xx
Yes, the embryos are very good grades. I wonder what your consultant will tell you. My first transfer was 4BC blastocyst so the BFN was put down to the embryo quality but the second transfer was with 3AA blastocyst and everything else seemed perfect too. We are planning the FET with 2x AB embryos. Maybe I should do the autoimmune tests just in case. I would be grateful if you could let me know what the consultant tells you. I’m feeling as puzzled as you are and it is hard to accept that we have no control over it. X
Hi - so sorry to hear you got a BFN.
I can’t help you with the FET queries but I had my period start mid cycle and I was told by my consultant it meant that it’s most likely the embryo didn’t develop pretty early on - and so never got to implantation. So despite all the pessaries etc the other hormones in our bodies kicked in for long enough to kick start the bleeding.
Were your embryo(s) good quality? I had two put back but early (day 2) and only grade 2 and 3 so I reckon mine never got to even attempt implantation
Really hope you get some answers and have better luck next time xx
Hi Becatoms. If you email me in confidence to support@fertilitynetworkuk.org I can send you a couple of lists of questions to have a look through if you want. Diane
