I am super anxious so thought i would come on here to share my thoughts and anxieties .
I have been on oestrogen for 6 days now . I have my day 12 scan on monday to check my lining . I am really hoping everything is well and we get to do the transfer on the saturday .
We have just the one Frozen embryo and it will be my first frozen embryo transfer my first was a fresh day 3 which stuck though unfortunately sadly lost my angel at 22 weeks to fetal anomaly.
i wondered if anyone my age at 26 or older had success on there first frozen embryo transfer and only had the one frozen embryo which survived thaw . I am just extremely overwhelmed and trying to take each step as a checkpoint e.g mondays scan as check point one . If we can get past that thats one hurdle passed the second would be the thawing of the embryo and just making it to transfer and the third would be the outcome .
I am extremely on edge and need words of support and encouragement. I currently have no family support as i live abroad in Italy with my family in the UK and just my husband here who is mostly just occupied with work as he is a Dr he barely has any time , nor do i want to put any pressure on him .
Anyone had first time FET success after a fresh transfer? Who had one embryo that thawed perfectly and went onto get a bfp?
In terms of the thawing process, I can’t remember the stats but it is very likely embryos survive the thaw - I know it’s hard not to worry but there is a very good chance it will thaw just fine.
I don’t have a first time FET success story for you - I had success on my third transfer and I only got one embryo after each egg collection (and had to do a freeze all cycle each time - no fresh transfers) so I know how stressful it is having no “back ups”. My issue for my earlier transfers was that my progesterone was not high enough and they only ever checked it on transfer day, which is too late. So my advice is to make sure your progesterone levels are tested before transfer day! I was 27 at the time and also have pcos.
All the best, and maybe let your husband in on some of your thoughts, I’m sure he’d want to be there for you if he knows you are struggling xx
Think you are right to take it step by step. It is overwhelming! But in FET the steps are small and hurdles quick to overcome. Hopefully before you know it you will be leaving the clinic after transfer with a nice plump womb lining and a little picture. The stats for FET are defo on your side - thawing rates are really good and your body supported implantation last time, so lots of things looking in the right direction for you. Try to concentrate on the positives. Fingers crossed 🤞
Hi Pcosivf. So, so sorry to hear that you lost your precious baby. A little one you will never forget, but hopefully, you are ready and can face forward and look towards to transferring your remaining embryo, who could just be the healthy one to make you the mother (parents) you so want to be. Keep busy and eat pineapple core. I shall be thinking of you. My brother in law is from Campobasso not far from Rome. Diane
