I've just finished by first round of Clomid and have been for a scan this morning. They said that it looks as though my follicles are maturing as they should but my endometrial lining is thin (a possible side effect of the drugs). I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing? Is there anything you can do to improve this naturally? Is pregnancy even possible with thin lining? (3.5mm). Could this improve as my cycle progresses? Soooo many questions and as usual I think of these things after I've left the hospital.....
Just worried that even if I do ovulate and an egg does get fertilised, does thin lining make maintaining a pregnancy possible? Would I end up having another miscarriage?
Also, does anyone have experience or thoughts on acupuncture for fertility? I want to try everything I can but unfortunately money is an issue....
Any advice is appreciated, I've just sat on Google for 2 hours post scan and all sorts of horrible scenarios are running through my head again

I hope you’re as ok as possible. I actually started looking in acupuncture yesterday as I’ve read some positive stories about its effects on fertility. It’s positive that the Clomid is maturing your follicles but then I understand your concerns about your lining. My friend, who has a thin lining, has been told to continue trying and that once she is pregnant, she will be prescribed progesterone to take. Maybe this is something you could ask the doctor about on your appointment? I know it’s easier said than done, but I’d try not to Google too much as I think this just adds to our worries. Not all information is accurate, relevant or credible. What I’ve learned from this forum is that fertility is such an individual process and no amount of research can tell us what our outcomes are going to be. My therapist advised if I had to Google, then add the words “research paper” after my search to try to find some more credible information or add “success stories” so that my brain isn’t geared into thinking about the negative aspects. It’s a difficult journey that requires endless hope, resilience and strength. I wish you the best x
Thankyou so much for your message and advice. You're absolutely right, Google does not help to maintain a positive outlook, it just sends you on a spiral of doubt and negativity. I need to try not to do that. And like you say, everyone's journey is so different - in some ways thats what makes it so hard, we just don't know how our own story is going to play out! I just feel so incredibly lost with it all. I'm trying to be this perfect person who eats well and sleeps well and tries not to get too stressed, and doesnt drink and yet nothing seems to be working, its exhausting.....
Thanks for the advice on progesterone, I will definitely ask about that at my next scan on Monday. That has reassured me a little bit so thankyou for that.
So, I just spoke with a fertility acupuncture specialist on the phone and she said acupuncture can help but it's very dependant on timing. In my case she said she wouldn't recommend it as it may conflict with the drugs I'm taking.
Again, thankyou so much for the message and I wish you all the very best too x
You have to give yourself grace and kindness. You are still human and you should be able to enjoy yourself by having a more relaxed diet at times and drinking if you wish to. Life is about balance after all. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself as you don’t want to find yourself resenting this process. It is so exhausting and at times soul-destroying. I have friends who only have to look at their partners and they’re pregnant again, but that’s not my story. I’ve found that counselling has really helped me. Maybe that could be something that you could access too if you’d find that beneficial?
Hi Yuki. Endometrial linings have a sneaky habit of catching up. Could be a bit low on progesterone, even oestrogen. An acupuncturist can sometimes work wonders. I can only wish you well. Good luck. Diane
Hi, Yes, clomid tends to thin the endometrium lining( possible side effect of this). But it happens only on the cycle that your take clomid. Lining should be normal in the further cycles.
I had the same experience and my lining didn't go beyond 5mm when I took clomid, otherwise normally it was good. So doctor said that this is because of clomid.
Not sure about the acupuncture, but many claim that it's beneficial. You can give a try. Good luck
I found with clomid it helped ovulation and for maturing. I fell pregnant on my 6th cycle but had an early miscarriage. I did 8 cycles in total before I was swapped to Letrazole. I took one cycle and ended up pregnant and my little boy is now 14 weeks old.
Thanks for your reply. They've switched me to letrozole for my next cycle, my lining has improved but still borderline too low. Crossing everything that this works x
