*sensitive* clearblue stress 🫣

hi lovely people 🤗 looking for some real life experience please of the clearblue digital week’s indicators just to give me an idea of what to realistically expect next. I know their reputation for causing stress and advice not to use them etc but here I am anyways 🤪

Got a positive at 6dp5dt (fresh)

Got 2-3 weeks on clear blue indicator at 9dpt (4+1) so that was spot on as you add on 2 weeks

I am now 19dpt so 5weeks +3 and still getting 2-3 weeks (should be 3+ by now)

Pink dye test still looking strong (boots version of FRER) but surely even with the wide range of HCG on the clearblue tests to get 2-3 then 3+ it should have risen enough in 9 days if it was doubling every 48hours no matter what my starting HCG was? 😢 I’m thinking its looking like another early loss?

I’ve ordered medichecks test as clinic and GP don’t do blood tests without any bleeding etc.

Any personal experience of when you got 3+ or if you didn’t move to it what was your outcome?

Thank you 🦋 xx

Hi Twiglet2, first of all congratulations on you BFP. My experience is that level of hcg vary a lot and only their trend can give you an indication of a successful pregnancy, levels not so much. As long as they are going up, it is a good sign. But the trend you'll get only with a blood test, no HPT will tell you that for sure. So please don't look too much into the weeks of the test results. It really all depends on the hcg value. Clear blue says that 3+ comes with a level of 2753. So if when you tested was not exactly there but rather 2670 , you would not get 3+. Also the levels are doubling every 48 to 72 h . So it is not exactly on the dot 48. Better wait for you blood test and that should give you a clear indication. Wishing you lots of baby dust.

Thank you 😊 my sensible head would say the same as you but with my wee boy I had a level of 20,000 by this point and had 3+ even before 5 weeks so it’s hard not to compare especially with all the early losses lately so want to prepare myself realistically as best as I can so was hoping for some real life experiences of these daft tests whilst I wait for the medichecks to come 🤗 xx

It can take quite a while to see 3 weeks. I think if my memory serves me right I was nearly 6 weeks when I saw it and like yourselves we were very stressed. All was ok and we had a successful pregnancy ! HCG levels can vary massively between women. I know you spoke of having blood tests as that would offer more reassurance that levels are doubling. Those clear blue tests can cause so much stress. I have refused to do anymore tests with my husband and said if it's going wrong we will know soon enough. Our last miscarriage showed weeks progressed to the go wrong afterwards so in my mind it gave us false hope. I think HCG blood tests and scans are the way forwards 🤗 It is awful wait for first scan. 🤦🏻‍♀️ my miscarriage specialist offered me one at 6 weeks and I was like no I'm not having one till 7 weeks as if there isn't a heartbeat there I'll be more worried. The secretary made me feel ridiculous for not wanting one early but we need an accurate one - I just it's Tommy's recommendation 🤦🏻‍♀️ I hope your clinic can arrange bloods Xx keep us posted Xx

Thanks lovely that’s really good to hear a positive story of these tests! Yeah our scan isn’t until 8+6!! A long wait but like you say at least it shouldn’t be inconclusive. Our clinic don’t do the blood tests unless you have bleeding (why I had them with my wee boy) I tried to convince them when I was in collecting more meds but they were having none of it lol. I think you are right with the not testing bit after the positive I’ve stupidly started it this time so I’m already down the crazy hole though 🙈🙈🫣 xx

I understand. We've caused ourselves so much stress that's why I refuse now 😂 It always amazes how different clinics are with protocol. That is a long wait poor you. I'm not surprised you're testing I can't believe they won't when scan is such a long wait. Do you have an understanding GP that might do bloods? Xx if you test again I would wait a few days to let it build up a bit more Xx

Our GPs is a riot the now it’s all different locums every few weeks and trying to get past the receptionist is like trying to get past a bulldog 🙈😂 unless you are an ‘emergency’ so I’m hoping the medichecks blood test will help but it’s a bit of a faff sending not away etc but needs must lol xx

Uh don't start me on GPS. My grown up son ended up in hospital a few weeks ago with suspected sepsis due to a misdiagnosis and not treated properly. He could've died thankfully my daughter in law was more on the ball and called an ambulance. She is now in hospital as with suspected pancereas coz her consultant decided to fat shame her and gaslight her pain & symptoms ( this is a women who has birthed 2 boys - my grandsons without pain relief! She is a tough cookie so if she says something hurts it does) my grandsons aged 5 and 3 watched their mummy stretched out to ambulance. I just hope they now will now believe her pain and treat this. I'm so angry they treated her like that she's lovely.

Anyway enough ranting just to wish you good luck with medi checks hope it can put your kind at rest till your scan xx

Hi lovely, I’m in a few Facebook groups and I’ve read lots of people complain and worry that the clear blue date tests are not accurate. That said if you are worrying you could pay for an early viability scan privately? They are usually about £70-80 and would help put your mind at rest. Expensive but maybe worth it for peace of mind. Some places do them from 6 weeks.

Twiglet2 profile image
Twiglet2 in reply toamydrummo

Thanks lovely 😊 I did get those with my first and the place starts from 8 weeks but found another near me that’s does from 6 weeks so it’s defo an option in the next couple of weeks to see what’s going on in there 🤗 xx

I wouldn’t overthink it. As long as the test still indicates that you’re pregnant, I’d say congratulations are in order 🥳 I’d also stop testing as you’ll drive yourself nuts (I say that as someone who’s done a lot of that 😬) x x

Twiglet2 profile image
Twiglet2 in reply toGraceFace

I know all sensible advice but until I figure out what’s possibly going on with this clearblue weeks thing I just can’t settle my mind 🤗 xx

Hi .. Congratulations on your positive test.... if you are paying privately I would not ask for the blood test and just tell them that you want it done, you will obviously have to pay for it, but if it gives you the peace of mind that it's worth it. I know the clinics deal with this every day but you are an individual and if this is what you need to ease your worry then have it done x

Twiglet2 profile image
Twiglet2 in reply toPRAYINGFORTHISTOWORK

Thanks I am paying private but they are also nhs cljnic. They just don’t do it, it’s not on their price list they only do it if there’s bleeding etc so they have done it for me in the past (nhs and private same clinic) but they just don’t do it as part of any package or separately. I actually have a great relationship with the nurses after nearly 7 years there and they do go out their way for me but this seems to be where they draw the line as I think of they did bloods it would really set their capacity back for the clinic xx

Can you tell them you've had a little bleeding? They're not going to check are they? Or is that too much of tempting fate? xx

ah ok, how about your GP? because of the history our doctor done the HCG twice for us, so maybe worth an ask x

Twiglet2 profile image
Twiglet2 in reply toPRAYINGFORTHISTOWORK

Our GPS is shambles at the moment I don’t even have a ‘doctor’ it’s all locums that change constant and they are on emergency appointments only 😢 I’m doing the medichecks blood test though should hopefully arrive today 🤞🏽xx

Hey I’ve just looked back at all my test photos and days past transfer. I got 2-3 weeks 12dpt and then it took until 24dpt to get 3+. I was obsessed with doing tests and wanting to see the progression. Think I did wait a few days between so it could’ve been a day or 2 earlier but it took a while.

Try not to stress. Hope you’re ok xx

Thank you 🤗💜 hopefully it’s just coming a bit late for me too! Luckily I have no tests left today so I’m giving myself a break from it xx

Twiglet2 in reply toRainbowdreams82

Hey 👋🏼 I’m having a break from all the testing after getting a 3+ yesterday afternoon and sending off my medichecks bloods so will see what they say on Friday just focusing on work the now and hoping for the best! Thanks so much for asking lovely you are the best! Xx

That’s amazing you got 3+. Hope you’re managing to relax a bit and switch off from all the testing. How did you get on with the bloods?xx

I got 3+ at 5+3 but when I was worrying I read loads of things from people who didn’t get 3+ till much later or even never got 3+ and everything had gone fine. There’s always a chance it’s a negative sign but there’s very little that can be done sadly. But god I know it’s all so stressful! 😩 keeping everything crossed for you!

Thank you so much! I know the waiting is too much 🙈 but not much I can do to change it xx

I had a bad outcome after my clearblue predictor bot progressing beyond 2-3 but I can't remember the dates so I don't want to frighten you. The only conclusive way to know is a quantitative hcg blood and a repeat 48 hours later. Without the repeat, it's not going to tell you anything or give you any peace of mind. Could you perhaps bend the truth a little and tell the clinic you had a little spotting 🤫🫣. I know it's not the way to do things but to not give blood tests is ridiculous and knowing how stressful these early days are, it's better for you to have the reassurance of blood results. Try not to worry and leave the clearance for another few days. I read hundreds of.posts about these and so many women had issues and said they'd never touch them again. I also read about lots of women who never progressed beyond 2-3 and everything was fine. If your dye tests are Still nice and strong and not getting lighter then you're fine.

Thank you 😊. That was from my cycle in September last year. I did another in April this year and am now 25 weeks with a very wriggly bubba so it all ended well. I have everything crossed for you. I should add that when my clearblue did not change, my other tests were also getting lighter so I think you should not worry as it all looks good and the clearblue are notoriously unreliable. Keep us all posted as to your bloods but I think you will be getting good news 🥰

Just a wee update for my helpful ladies and anyone reading in future- I sent away my bloods to medichecks today and will repeat again Friday. After finally getting sore boobs and having a spew yesterday I still got 2-3 again this morning but did another this afternoon and got 3+ at 5+5 (21dp5dt).

It’s a bit behind and 6 days later than I did for my wee boy so not sure what’s going on in there but I’m stepping away from the tests for a wee while as my head is very scrambled with it all. I can’t thank you all enough for all your help and soothing words xx

I'm So glad you have your symptoms back. That's brilliant news. My tests would show stronger in afternoon/evening ( when we were serial testers 🤪!) Good luck with medi checks I'm sure all is fine but will keep you going till scan. 🤗All pregnancies are different just to keep us on our toes! 🤪 Xx
