Letrozole - slow follicle growth - any experiences ?

Hello,

I’m worried about my current cycle where I’m was treated with letrozole 5mg days 2-6.

I have PCO (and usually ovulate on my own around day 14). I’m on letrozole to boost ovulation and to help my short natural Luteal phase (also take progesterone in the Luteal phase).

For the past 6 cycles my response has been the same - one dominant follicle about 20mm ready for trigger shot on day 11 or thereabouts.

However this cycle has been different. At the scan in day 7 I had a 7mm and 8mm follicles. Went back today on day 10 and there were about 4 9mm follicles - 2 on each ovary.

I’m finding this odd that my response this month is so different! I’m also worried due to slow follicle growth that I won’t ovulate even one 😞. I did start taking metformin this month for the first time and wonder if that impacted things?

Feeling worried and hating all the unpredictable-ness of the human body!

Had any body had similar experiences?

Each cycle of treatment can be entirely different from the one before Seems it can take up to 60-90 days for metformin to have a more substantial benefit on fertility .Maybe best speak to your clinic regarding your concerns

Thanks for the reply! Yes I’m going to talk to Drs tomorrow and just baffled why my response is suddenly so different
