Disheartened about follicle scan :( - any positive experiences?

I’m on my 10th day of menopur stimming and on a high dose of 5 vials a night. I had a scan last weds which showed 8 follicles, however on my scan today, she could only find 6. I’m so disheartened, on my 1st cycle of IVF I had much more about 12 and was on a lower dose, but that was also a failed cycle, now I’ve got half the amount I can’t help but feel that this is going to end in tears too. I’ve been taking coq10 and doing acupuncture as I thought this may helped but it all seems a waste of time and money now. Im scheduled for egg collection on Friday, might there be a chance i could develop more? Has anyone had good results with low follicle counts? Thanks xx

Hey there, I had only 7 follicles ready for collection which I was disappointed with hearing so many other women having like 18! They got 9 eggs out of those. 4 Fertlised and 3 made it to top quality blasto. The other eggs weren't mature enough to fertilise apparently.

Guess what I'm trying to say is that it really is quality over quantity. The COQ10 is meant to improve quality so keep going with it. A high protein diet is also meant to help gee up the follicles a bit too.

Best of luck with egg collection and remember you don't know what you're working with until they have them in the dish!

I didn’t try it myself because I had a good amount of follicles but lots of women on here recommended using a hot water bottle at this stage to encourage follicle growth. It’s worth a try. Good luck xx

My daughter never produced lots of follicles. Definitely put a hot water bottle on your tummy to get them growing, works every time for my daughter. Also they carry on growing until egg collection so don’t be down about it. Quality over quantity every time xxx

I had a soak in a hot bath every night then snuggled into a hot water bottle which seemed to bring things on a bit. Also keep those feet warm!xx

My friend had only two follicles. She delivered her baby today ;) xxx good luck
