I am 6+5 pregnant through IVF. I had a first ultravaginal and abdominal scan from private clinic at 6+1 and found 2 gestational sac however no yolk sac and fetal pole seen. Next day I started spotting so phoned EPU and check my hcg which still rising. I had heavy bleed with lower abdominal pain that lasted about 30mins yesterday. Bleeding , cramps nor spotting stopped since. I went back in EPU, had my scan today and sonographer said she couldn’t find any sign of pregnancy. Advised for blood test to see if my hcg is still rising. (currently awaiting for results)
Has anyone experienced similar to my situation?

I'm so sorry to hear that, I've had a silent miscarriage in May and they are very horrible. Was it a vaginal ultrasound? If it was and they couldn't see any sign of pregnancy then I'm so sorry but it doesn't look good, sending hugs your way
Hi Springbaby I'm really sorry that you're going through this, it's really stressful and heart-breaking. I hope you do have good support around you. Has the EPU recommended a confirmation scan ?? I do hope they can tell you something different on the confirmation scan. You should ask for this to get a second opinion, sometimes things change for good.
I had a silent miscarriage (missed miscarriage) as a result of our first fresh transfer, which basically means that the embryo stops developing at certain point, but the body fails to recognise it , so there's no actual miscarriage. My case was slightly different, i had very light but fresh bright bleeding exactly on week 6 but no cramps, I got a scan with EPU next day and they confirmed the yolk sac was in right place and embryo had a heartbeat, they also told me i had a 2.5 cm hematoma. They explained it could go either way but a lot of the time the hematoma is absorbed and then pregnancy continues after this. Sadly 2 weeks after there was no longer a heartbeat on the viability scan. The fertility clinic booked me for a confirmation scan with EPU next day, they confirmed the same findings. The sonographer explained sometimes things can change between first scan and confirmation scan, and she said she was hoping to find something different (i believe EPU are the experts and have more sophisticated machines) but sadly that wasn't the case. I did continue taking the pessaries until the confirmation scan, as I was hoping maybe this was a mistake. The miscarriage itself took around 1 month to happen from confirmation scan (i did have medical management after 12 days of waiting for it to happen on its own). Please feel free to DM in case you have any queries.
I send you a big hug, wishing you all the best, please be kind to yourself whatever the outcome x
