hi everyone, I had a successful FET with a top quality embryo. Beta hcg levels were high and confirmed the pregnancy.
I’ve been having some spotting for the past couple of days and I’m so worried it’s the start of a miscarriage as it started really light for a day then got a bit more bright. No cramps as of yet.. I’m also on lubion and cyclogest twice a day.
Has anyone experienced the same thing and went ahead with a healthy pregnancy?
Thank you for your help x

Hi Mani-24, I had a similar experience 4 years ago with my successful fet. I was bleeding at 7weeks I’m like you I’m super worried that I’m having an early miscarriage but at 8 weeks scan my baby show healthy and was fine then and now I have a 4 year old . As far as I remember four years ago they told me ivf pregnancy sometimes bleeds as embryo grows and dig deeper to the uterus and can cause bleeding, but every pregnancy is different. Hopefully your case is similar to mine 🤞just continue your medication and maybe phone the clinic if your worried? Or I would suggest maybe go for an early scan for your peace of mind. Goodluck xx
Hi! I am sorry to hear about the bleeding, it is very scary. I had a large bleed at 5w3d and it turned out to be a large subchorionic haematoma. Apparently these are more common with IVF pregnancies and even more so if you are taking baby aspirin. I was told to immediately stop the aspirin, take it easy (no standing or walking for more than 20 minutes) and work from home if possible. The haematoma had cleared by the 12 week scan. I'd talk to your clinic and ask for an early scan to asses the situation. Best of luck!
I had quite a lot of bleeding, spotting every day and 3 heavy bleeds between weeks 5-8 they saw a hematoma on my 6 week scan which was causing the bleeding. I’m now 11 weeks and haven’t bled since 8 weeks.
Bleeding happens in half of ivf pregnancies - I found this out when I was obsessing over it! Lack of bad cramps is a good sign. My clinic made me take an extra progesterone pessary as that is meant to help.
I am 6+3 weeks pregnant after FET. I went for my first scan last Sunday which I was 6+1 then I had a really bad cramps last night. I’m currently experiencing light bleeding and had to phone early pregnancy assessment unit this morning. Luckily, they booked me in for urgent blood test to find out if my beta hcg is still rising. 🤞🏻It’s quite worrying and scary. Hope you feel better soon.
My blood test results just came back bhcg is still rising from 2498 last week and today is 7308. I feel such a big relief, I have to go back for another blood test and scan on Thursday. Hope you get good results too. Fingers crossed.🤞🏻
You are so sweet! Thanks for asking. I checked my progesterone and bhcg today and all great. In fact my hcg has increased from 1640 to 20000 in 5 days, not sure why…
It turns out the bleeding was caused by lack of estrogen. My clinic gave me the wrong protocol and told me to stop the estrogen on the day of the positive pregnancy test which was a massive mistake. This protocol is only used for fresh transfer and I am frozen.
I’ve restarted progynova today (after 6 days without it) and they told me to stop the blood thinners until the bleeding stops. Fingers crossed it didn’t cause any damage x
That is a really great news and your bhcg levels, looks like you are having twins? I’m on progynova 2tablets 3x a day since I started my cycle but not on aspirin. I have my scan and blood test tomorrow and I’m so anxious because I had a bad cramps and heavy bleed last night but only lasted for a few minutes and stopped. Fingers crossed everything is okay.
I have no idea because the doctor didn’t comment much. He was confused because I sent values from Spain (I’m meant to be on holiday!) and they said 200.000 but he said it means 20k in uk.
I’m so sorry to hear about your bleeding and cramps, I know exactly what is going through your head. I’ll be thinking of you, I hope it’s good news with the scan and bloods. Keep me posted x
