Has anyone been referred to Guys and St Thomas Recurrent Miscarriage clinic in London and found it useful? Do they do all the same tests as the Tommy’s recurrent miscarriage clinics?
I just had a call with my doctor to ask for a referral to a Tommy’s clinic and I just checked my NHS app and it says ‘requires referral to Guys and St Thomas’ hospital’. I did specifically want a Tommy’s clinic given their research but she’s not done it!! Has anyone else been to Guys for their recurrent miscarriage treatment?
There’s only 1 forum online that mentions it and they aren’t particularly nice about it (they say it’s a waste of time! Ouch!)
Obviously am happy to go ahead with it, but if no one else has good experiences I might call my doc back and say I would like a Tommy’s referral please.

Sorry I can’t actually answer your question, but I just wanted to say that the confusion with your GP and them making a referral to Guys and St Thomas’s is to do with St Thomas’s being known/referred to in the healthcare community as Tommy’s. Tommys’s charity however deliver their miscarriage clinics from three different sites in the UK:
Birmingham Women's Hospital
University Hospital Coventry
Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea Hospital and St Mary's Hospital, London
Its maybe worth contacting your GP and asking them to refer you to the miscarriage clinic at one of the above.
Oh that's really interesting, I wonder why that hospital is known as 'Tommys', perhaps did it used to be a site for them? I'm on hold with them now! Thank you for clarifying.
