Double FET - faint BFP 6dp5dt, beta came back at 47.4 9dp5dt. Clinic said it was a 50% chance of miscarriage but that they’ve had babies born from these numbers. They won’t retest until 16dp5dt.
I’m on 600mg of progesterone, Estrogen and 25mg lubion. I’ve had mild cramps since the transfer but had a few days with bad back pain, which has luckily now subsided. I have nausea and sore nipples, and I think my nipples might be bigger but I could be imagining it. No sign of any bleeding, thankfully! As you can imagine, I’m a nervous wreck!
I’m testing everyday until the next beta just to check on my lines, I’ve been using clearblue and some cheap ones from boots. Clearblue has been showing up since day 6, cheap ones only just developed a faint line today, day 12.
This is my first transfer and I feel completely alone. Is the line progression a positive? Does anyone have any success stories with betas that low?

I'm sorry this is a worrying time for you. On the betas, it's generally not the starting number but whether it's going up and broadly doubling every 2-3 days. If your clinic won't test, could you ask or GP or use one of the private or online services? That's what I did as neither my NHS nor private clinic tested and tbh even when I gave them the results they were very unhelpful and just said they don't know to how to interpret them. It's a bit difficult to tell with the lines as they're so variable depending on time of day, urine concentration etc, and if using different sorts they often have different sensitivities. You broadly want them to be getting darker every couple of days but it's not always that straightforward. Hopefully others can help with the levels and that it's a good outcome for you.
Thank you for your reply. Good suggestion about the private blood tests, I did look but the availability was just a few days difference with my clinic so I’ve decided to just wait it out, allow myself to feel happy that I’m currently pregnant and to stop testing every day because I’m driving myself crazy.
hi there, I’m an IVF mum, my pregnancy started with a beta of 34 and it was slow to rise. The pregnancy continued and my son is 18 months now. It can happen. I had three repeat betas, and stopped taking pregnancy tests because I was driving myself mad. It’s such a tough place to be in, to just have to wait with your heart in your mouth. I’ll cross my fingers for you x
This is really helpful thank you! I’m absolutely clinging on to success stories.
My tests have got darker which is reassuring but I’ve had some brown discharge which was worrying but luckily it seems to have stopped. I’m just going to wait until my second beta on Wednesday and then hopefully my scan two weeks after. Fingers crossed!
