*sensitive* Birth Announcement (poss TW for birth story)

We were joined last week by our beautiful chunky monkey, baby Ivy. My scheduled c section got brought forward due to repeated monitoring for reduced movement and she was born at 38 weeks weighing 8lb 11oz.

She was born silent and blue, cord around her neck, and a team of drs worked on her for what felt like forever to resuscitate and get her going herself, at which point they realised I was haemorrhaging so I was moved back to the operating table and my partner and baby had to leave. We got to meet for the first time a few hours later and I have been in love ever since 🥰

She is the result of my first and only spontaneous pregnancy, aged 41, after an 8 year TTC journey (during which we also had our son via ivf). Last year I was broken after loosing 2 back to back IVF pregnancies and felt we were at the end of the road in trying for a sibling. I realise we are unbelievably lucky and am beyond thankful- for the outcome, and also for all the support and encouragement (and chats!) that I have received on here over the years.
