Hi everyone.. please I need some advice on what to better if I go for another cycle .
Suggestions please.π Long read.. Iβm sorry
My journey in summary : when I started with my Meriofert injections, my ovaries were not doing great at all, they had to increase the dose and later had 7 follicles only from left ovary.. right ovary was inactive all through.
Trigger shot 36 hours before egg retrieval and 3 eggs were collected. One fertilised properly and was transferred on day 3. They said it was a very good quality .
Day 2 after transfer, I had severe GI issues with pains on upper tummy.. complained to my clinic receptionist and a nurse never called back, I had to endure and it lasted for a few days and vanished by itself.
I was only given utrogestan three times a day after egg collection till date.
so Iβm due to do a test on Sunday (13dpt) , I impatiently did one today (10dpt) and it was Negative.
Please can anyone share what they different in their BFP cycles so I can apply it on the next round.
Thank you so much πππππ and Iβm sorry for the long message.. I donβt even know how Iβm so calm after testing negative lol.

Hi,So sorry to hear of your BFN. Be kind to yourself at this time.
Regarding doing something different, first of all you need to speak to your clinic and get a follow up. If you don't get a good response, change clinic. They should have responded to you when you had the stomach pains. In contrast when I had stomach pains, the doctor called me back at 10pm to see if I was OK. It turned out I had internal bleeding from the egg collection.
Other than that if you haven't read it starts with an egg, it's definitely worth doing.
I'd want to know why one ovary didn't respond before trying again.
Unfortunately this isn't an exact science and everyone responds differently to different protocols, so it can feel a bit like trial and error and now they know that you need a higher dose, the next time you can be on the right dose from the start.
It's difficult to predict how you will react to medication. In contrast to you, I reacted too well and had to have my medication reduced. After transfer I've had a few protocols. Sometimes like you just utrogestan and that will have worked for some people, but not me. Other times I've had estrogen, blood thinners, steroids. So many different methods out there.
I am very sorry about the BFN, it is such a soul-crushing experience! For my second FET, I insisted my clinic check my progesterone levels two days before transfer and on the day of transfer (both times on the low side so they have do double my dose). I also took oral and vaginal probiotics in the run up to the transfer and was given baby aspirin. Very best of luck!
It did, currently 33 weeks. I think it was the progesterone that made the difference. The baby aspirin is a two-edged sword. For me it lead to a large haematoma and threatened miscarriage at 5w3d, I was told to stop it immediately as apparently it significantly increases the risk of a bleed. So if you do take baby aspirin, I recommend asking your clinic when is the soonest you can stop it to avoid possible complications. Very best of luck with your next round! xx
