Hi getting anxious my ivf journey may be over as after 2 failed icsi attempts a couple of years ago I have just started with Perimenopause and wanted to know if anyone on here has been successful with ivf during the Perimenopause?
Was hoping to have 1 last attempt at icsi this year but we have to fund it privately due to our age and I’ve read that your chances of success drop to only 2-4 percent during the menopause so not sure it’s worth it.
Hoping someone has a positive story to spur us in 🤞🏻 X

I would think that as long as you are able to collect some eggs then it is still a possibility. If it is not a stupid question, how do you know you are in perimenopause? Are there tests that can be done? Wondering where I might be with that..
Hi Koala thanks for your reply and no of course it’s not a stupid question. I haven’t seen my gp yet but over the last few months I’ve been having hot flushes at night, my mood has been up and down and my periods have become more frequent, every 2-3 weeks rather than my regular 28 day cycle and all those symptoms google defines as perimenopause. I think you can have a blood test to look at the level of your hormones so I guess I need to consult my gp and my ivf clinic and see what options I have left. I was just feeling down the other day and thinking it was all over but I havent thoroughly looked into everything properly yet and as we are using donor eggs maybe your cycle is not as critical but you read so much about minimal chances of success at my age and I just want to be sure what my chances are before breaking the bank one last time. Well good luck with wherever you are on your journey and thanks for your reply x
