Natural IVF vs donor eggs

I have some probably daft questions about natural IVF and donor eggs but I'm hoping someone will be able to help.

As I'm only producing 1 or 2 eggs with stimulated IVF I wondered if natural IVF might be the way forward for us. Due to male factor we have to use ICSI, given that you can't say exactly when your 1 egg would be collected with natural IVF would they do the TESA and then just keep it in a dish until they manage to get the egg?! we can't freeze his sperm so that's not an option. Can anyone recommend a good clinic for natural IVF in London where we are based? I would imagine it would be best to do it fairly local as I think it requires many more scans than normal IVF.

Daft question no.2, if we were to opt for donor eggs would the embryo take anything from the fact I would be carrying it during pregnancy or is it just the donor egg's mother's DNA and my partner's?? Do they get any of my DNA? Yeah I know it's probably daft but I'm having problems getting my head round essentially having a baby that is nothing to do with me biologically :-( Any recommendations for clinics in Europe? London is way too expensive to even think about doing it here.

Hi SharlyWarly. You could tried a mild form of IVF, as it would be a shame to just collect one egg during a cycle. With regrds to DNA, it is unlikely that your DNA will turn up in your baby. You need to have some implications counselling before embarking on the donor route. Good luck with whatever you decide. Diane

Hi Diane, I take your point, though as even with a normal dose of IVF meds we're only getting 1 or 2 eggs I can't see mild IVF touching the sides!

Hiya we are at a clinic in Spain although I’ve not got my bfp yet (male and female factors 😩) they have been absolutely fantastic and very supportive. The language barrier is no problem I would recommend them xxx

Hi there! How are you? I hope you are doing fine. So according to your condition, i would say that going for donor is a better option. The thing you are worried about is that, the baby won't have your DNA, is true. But going with your own eggs will waste your time and money. Before opting for a clinic, make a pros and cons list of all clinics. Then the clinic which suits you the best, go for that one. I hope this helps you. Please keep us updated. Good luck! Stay blessed. Take care. Bye!

Hi Sharly! I hope you are doing well. You should just go for donor eggs. There's nothing that can assure you that in natural IVF you will be able to produce more eggs. So why waste more time and money on something with such a low success rate. The best option for you is to opt for donor eggs. The chances of success are also high and also things will be easier for you. Although the DNA will be of the donor, not you. So if that is something that bothers you then think. I hope this helps you. Good luck! Take care! Stay blessed. Bye!

Thanks - though I think we have found a solution which is a tandem cycle (basically, try both own and donor at the same time) x

Hi, how are you doing now? It seems to me that you need to use donor eggs. It makes no sense to spend money if there is practically no hope. Of course, choose donor eggs. Indeed, in this way your chances of success will increase. Despite the donor DNA, I’m sure that you can love this baby. Everything will be fine, do not worry!

Thanks for your message - I think we will try a tandem cycle, that way I know I have done everything I can to have another baby with my own eggs. Just need to convince my partner now, wish me luck!!! x
