we are working towards DEIVF in August. The vlinic in Prague asked me to get TSH and Prolactin tested. My prolactin is way higher than the normal range. 630
I ran to the clinic and can see exercise can increase it. I’m also on day 21 of my cycle. Don’t know if that makes difference- I was told to get it done at any time.
Does anyone have any experience of this? And did it impact treatment?

Hi, I have had medication for raised prolactin for years. It was already under control before I started IVF so it didn't impact my treatment but raised prolactin can prevent ovulation. I believe if your body is under stress it can increase your prolactin so running to the clinic might have had something to do with it. I don't know if your cycle affects it but I was told that early morning results are normally the most accurate. It's easy to treat if you do need treatment though.
I hope it was just the exercise. I have regular periods and ovulate every month.. so hopefully just an anomaly. Kicking myself now for exercising before the test, obviously. Thanks for your reply . I will get it repeated and walk to the clinic next time.
If levels are high it is important that this is looked at before attempting to conceive - it causes irregular ovulation and lack of periods It can be caused by many conditions and treatment will depend on the cause The good news is that it is reversible Ask your clinic to explain it to you
