does anyone have experience with embryo transfer after breastfeeding? My doc wanted me to wean for two months, which I have done, but some still comes out when I squeeze. Is it safe to proceed? I had so much trouble the first time and don’t want anything to interfere… any advice or info? Thankful for all of you and baby dust to you all too 🤗

Did they test your prolactin? Did they test your vitamin D? For me they required 6mo post weaning and regular periods returned. They tested Vitamin D as it can get really depleted with BFing. They tested prolactin and Vitamin D to be on the safe side (just as they test for regular infertility testing and pre-transfer testing) pre-transfer too. Different REs say different things, like some say if you didn't have issues with high prolactin pre-pregnancy they don't worry about it post-weaning.
MANY woman will have small expressions of "fluid" until menopause. So that may not mean anything.
that is helpful, thank you so much. I just ordered more vitamin D and know they will be testing it. I will also tell them to test the level of prolactin. Yes, it does seem like it could be a drop here and there when squeezed (sorry if Tmi) forever, so that’s why I was worried. I stopped at the appointment he told me to stop so that was April. I think transfer will be July at best.
Depending on how long you breastfed, milk can come out for years afterwards. It just sits in the ducts but isn’t really being actively produced (I had a long discussion with a BF counsellor about it). My clinic asked for 3 months no BF. I could still get a bit of milk out about 5 months after stopping-I was having some focal breast pain like a slightly blocked duct so had tried to express as I would have BF. Xx
Yep, BF for 8m, stopped in October then had a successful FET in April ie 6m later. My periods were back to normal about 3m after stopping BF, which is probably the most important xx
there is quite limited empirical evidence around breastfeeding and fertility treatment and different clinics/consultants have different stances on it and give different advice
I would second the Facebook group recommendation it has some really helpful information
