Does anyone have any tips on how to handle hormonal weight gain? I have been put on Cyclogest and I am piling on the weight like never before. I am desperate and dont know what to do anymore. I am quite an active person and I have my normal 3 meals a day. I believe I eat less (I do snack though) than before however, I read that cyclogest increases your appetite. I have always been underweight my whole life. I am currently boarder line of being over weight for my BMI and I feel really uncomfortable and unhealthy. I have considered taking an appetite suppressant but im worried it will affect my next transfer. But I am also concerned that I am just going to continue getting larger and that wont either be healthy for a transfer. Can anyone help, I am feeling so desperate 😢

Hi, I believe the meds can interfere with weight and I have found myself that I have gained weight and found it really hard to shift that weight. One idea would be to consult a fertility nutritionist who can talk to you about diet and exercise and how to address the issue. I would really avoid any appetite suppressant though when going through treatment xx
Hi Skittles11, Thanks so much for your reply. I will definitely look into a fertility nutritionist, I didn't even know there was such a thing. I am sure they would be able to help. Thanks so much for the suggestion.
hi, i feel exactly the same. I’ve always been slim and never overweight. After two failed cycles in the last year I’m now finding myself a stone and a half heavier and the weight hard to shift. I also go to the gym 3 x a week. I’ve been reading how to shift it and found a post on netmums. It seems like you need to be quite strict with your diet and low carb. This is what I will be trying. Also my clinic have offered me a fertility nutritionist so I’ll be taking them up on this. Good luck xx
Thanks so much for your reply and suggestions. I am definitely going to look into a fertility nutritionist, I really think I need professional guidance because hormone weight really is so hard to shift. I am also going to keep a closer eye in my carbs intake. Heres holding thumbs for all of us 🌸
I’ve just found this post after searching as I’m feeling the same… I’m on cyclogest, Lubion and patches. I’m 10dp5dt and test in 3 days… I’m not used to being heavy and I hate it… my friends keep saying don’t worry, if it’s worked you’ll only get heavier… I’m fine with that but it’s currently not related to being pregnant if hopefully I am! I’ve never gained weight like it and I’m also very active! HELP!!
Hi Laragh13, I am sorry for only replying now but I have been on holiday and just got back. Firstly, I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling with your weight 😔. I hope you got some positive news from your last transfer 🤞🤞🤞. Regarding the above messages, I still haven't managed to shake off a single kilo, in fact I have put on more. I went to see someone to help with my diet and they put me on an AIP diet which was extremely difficult because I could barely eat anything (no variety I mean. I eventually gave that up. I definitely think the best way to go is with a nutritionist that specialises in fertility.
I am sorry I cant be of more help but I understand what you are feeling.
