I had my last fresh cycle. As I have not been successful in the past, just before this cycle, I took DHEA and CoQ10 for 3 months to improve egg quality. Also took pergoveris, instead of gonal F and menopur. Did ICSI too.
Out of 5 mature eggs, only 2 fertilised on day 1. The embryologist will grow then until day 5 but not sure if they will survive. It’s very upsetting.
Anyone has any success stories?

Just wanted to wish you luck and will be thinking of you - you have done everything possible to try to achieve your dream Hope you get lots of replies to your post
We used ICSI in our last three rounds - fertilisation rates were pretty good, our problem was always embryo survival - but embryo quality seemed better and we finally got our BFP 🤞🤞 💫
Hi there.I changed from gonal f and menopur in my first cycle to pergoveris and cetrotide in my second cycle. We only had two mature eggs both fertilised and were transferred on day 3.I now have a beautiful 19 day old baby girl.Sending you lots of baby dust.xx
Hello Sabrina, I am sorry you are feeling a little low. I would like to give you some hope, in our second egg collection we had 7 mature eggs but only 3 fertilised (we did PIMSI, which is ICSI plus additional sperm selection methods on top), however, all three made it to good quality blastocysts and two of them tested euploid. I am now ten weeks pregnant with one of them at the grand old age of 44. I remember feeling so deflated when I got the call on Day 1 as going purely by the numbers this appeared to be the worse of our only two cycles we were going to do, but it has turned out to be our best one quality wise! Wishing you all the best and fingers crossed you will get good news on Day 5! xx
I did the same as you. COQ10 for 4 months in the run up to egg collection. We got 3 mature and all fertilised and got to day 5 with 2 top quality. Previous round I got 4 ask fertilised but none got to day 5 soo this was a massive improvement. We had ICSI and my husband was asked to ejaculate for 7 days in the run up to egg collection. He’d previously Had to do this as a trial to see if his sperm could survive it - which it could. Our consultant told us this was so it was in the really healthy ones that would be transferred.
First fresh transfer didn’t take but frozen one did and We now have a 3 month old from the second frozen transfer from this cycle. Good luck with the cycle - wishing you all the best xx
YES. DHEA helps increasing the quality of eggs, however I tested for inhibin B where mine was 120 and I got naturally my kids when I was 39 for the first and 42 for the second one. Best wishes for success!!!
Hi Sabrina, my husband and I had ICSI too. I was 40 (41 now) and this was our first cycle. I took Gonal F and Menopur. They collected 11 mature eggs, and out of those 9 fertilised. By day 5 there were 3 surviving, but only 2 of them had become blastocysts. So we had them both transferred. The wait for the phone calls from the embryologists is so so hard, I totally understand why you would be upset.
Please try and stay positive, it’s like people will tell you, it only takes one embryo!
One of our eggs stuck and I am currently 36 weeks pregnant, and can’t wait to meet our baby girl in about 3 weeks.
I wish you all the best of luck with your journey x x
