3dp5dt going nuts

Hey all,

I’m convinced I’ve had a placebo embryo put back in for my FET 😂 I feel completely normal.

Only have a little cramp once I’ve used the progesterone pessary but nothing else!

Anyone had this before and had a positive result? Xx

hey. I had no symptoms at all during the TWW following an FET and now have a gorgeous little boy. Arguably I had more symptoms before the transfer than after it. Try not to examine your symptoms too much…it’ll drive you loopy 🤪

And if you can, try to wait till OTD to do a test. You’ll stress out about the result if you do it earlier whichever way it goes!!

Good luck!

Thank you so much Rollercoastersmiles, this helps a lot!

So glad you have your beautiful little boy! Congrats ❤️

I suppose the 2 times I’ve had a transfer before I’ve had symptoms and both were negative so fingers crossed!

I’ve never tested before otd as I’ll drive myself nuts wondering if the result will change so I always wait lol xxx

The 2ww is truly torture but honestly it’s normal to feel normal 😂 I have had 4 BFN and 2 BFP and honestly I couldn’t tell you there were any symptoms at all until well past 5 weeks. I did not expect the BFPs based on any consistent symptoms.

My last transfer I was convinced they had left the embryo in the Petri dish as I could see a little dot there after they picked up the embryo and I spent the whole journey home wondering that 😂😂 now I’ve said that out loud, I realise how crazy that is to think that 😂😂

Keep positive, good luck 🍀🍀

At my clinic they always have the lab test the petri dish afterwards just to make sure, so apparently you are not the only one to think this!!!

Yeah mine did this too lol x

Hello Kitkat, thank you for replying! This makes me feel better.

The 2WW is horrible! You over analyse everything lol

Awww you must have been driving yourself crazy thinking that 😂

Im going to try and stay positive. Thank you xxx

Hi, I think I transfered just like you. I am trying g to be calm and believing everything will be alright. I don't have any symptoms too and even my last positive I didn't have any symptoms until when the weeks were far gone. Just have a little twinges like for a second yesterday but if I was very busy wouldnt have noticed or felt it. Fingers crossed 🤞 we will get the positive we seek. All the best xx

It's so good to read that no symptoms doesn't mean no pregnancy. It kees me positive.

I have tiny twinges now and again too but that's it and like you I woudn't have noticed if I was busy.

I really hope we get our positive results! Good luck xx

I had none at all. I had all the symptoms with my BFN. Was convinced it would work and was soo shocked it was a BFN. Then the next transfer zero symptoms but I’ve just just dropped that little bubba at nursery so proof it doesn’t matter !! 😊

Thank you so much for your reply.

It keeps me hopeful and optimistic.

Congrats on your little bubba 🙂 xx

It's like you are reading my mind 🤣The transfer was done last Friday, following the ERA protocol so we did the transfer 24 hours earlier !! I'm post receptive, but I keep telling myself this was a mistake I should have repat the ERA test before transfer to be sure, as bueng post receptive is so rare 🥲

I feel nothing, no cramps nothing at all, I just try to keep myself busy and think about the vacations plan if this doesn't work

Thank you for your reply.

I really hope your result is positive! Ill be sure to have everything crossed for you.

From what the other ladies have said above, no symptoms doesnt mean no positive result so fingers crossed xxx

I had my transfer Saturday so in a similar position to you. I'm "trying" not to symptom spot because I've had all the symptoms on previous transfers (bloating, pulling sensation, cramps, nausea, tiredness) and none of them have resulted in a pregnancy!!! So honestly symptoms don't mean a thing! I think it's just all the drugs (or poetnatilly the body trying to let it implant but for me it has still failed!) So really (I know it's so hard and I'm still kinda doing it anyway!) But the symptoms mean nothing! Most of my friends who have had successful pregnancies did not have any until later!! When is your OTD? Mine is 1st June!

Anoncasper profile image
Anoncasper in reply toLSandJ

I'm the same. I had all the symptoms last time too which resulted in a BFN. It such a confusing time as you completely pay attention to every little feeling be it cramping, bloating, nausea etc and your heat flutters!

My OTD is the 31st of May so just over a week and a bit to go. lol Too long !!

How many transfers have you had? xx

LSandJ profile image
LSandJ in reply toAnoncasper

This is my 6th transfer. Embryos 7 and 8! (2nd egg collection!) Hoping lucky embryo 7 is the one! What about you? X

Anoncasper profile image
Anoncasper in reply toLSandJ

This is my 3rd transfer. My first cycle only produced one embryo and was a fresh transfer. My second round, we had to freeze the embryo's due to me havg OHSS after the egg collection so my first FET was BFN and this one we are yet to see so fingers crossed.

I really hope lucky embryo 7 is the one for you xx

LSandJ profile image
LSandJ

My first one was a freeze all due to potential OHSS, but I didn't actually get it! So this time we have gone for a fresh (I was really worried I DID have it this time but luckily all has settled down)So this is my first fresh transfer! Progesterone level really high and used embryo glue! So 3 new things. Hopefully they'll make the difference!

3rd time lucky for you, and lucky no 7 for me! Could both work!! :-) x

Anoncasper profile image
Anoncasper in reply toLSandJ

Ahh I see. It’s not very nice OHSS. Quite painful too.

That’s good that your levels were really high and they used embryo glue too. I’m with the NHS and don’t think they use that. If they do, they haven’t said.

I really hope this time is our time. 7 transfers is a lot! I thought 3 was bad!

I’m 38 and have PCOS and “slight” endometriosis too (if that’s a thing) so been trying for 4/5 years with no luck. Xx

LSandJ profile image
LSandJ in reply toAnoncasper

Feeling similar! I'm 37, v nearly 38, have PCOS too and trying about 5 years!! (No endo, thats i know of! Ha and No NHS rounds!) They gave me clomid and we tried at home with a donor for a year, but no luck! I've had quite a few 'extra tests' that the private sector do, but none have helped. I think it's often just (bad) luck and a numbers game!

The pco was actually helpful for me as we've got lots of embryos, it's just none will implant!!! 7 does seem a lot, but in some ways it doesn't. I'm not sure how many more we can do! If after a couple more it still hasn't worked we might look at putting the embryos in my wife instead (although she has bad endo and only one ovary so who knows if that's a good idea!!)

Anoncasper profile image
Anoncasper in reply toLSandJ

Gosh! I can’t believe the similarities.

I was the same with the PCOS, I have an abundance of eggs it’s just ensuring they all fertilise and then hopefully implant.

I often wonder about the extra tests and if they are worth the money. I’ve not had any myself but I also wonder if there is an underlying issue that I’m not aware of.

Do you have many more embryos stored? I suppose there is no harm with seeing how things go with an embryo and your wife.

Fingers crossed you don’t have too though and your 7th transfer is your little rainbow xxx

LSandJ profile image
LSandJ in reply toAnoncasper

Yes luckily we got lots of blasts (it's not blasts that's the issue, just implanting!) We had 8 embryos from the first egg collection. We did PGTA on 6 of them. 5 normal and 1 low level mosaic. (We still have two embryos left from that go). This collection made 11 embryos, so 9 have been frozen.

I agree I'm not sure about all the extra tests (as none seem to help me!) So don't think we would PGTA again! But if this one doesn't work I will probably do the Era, Emma, Alice again along with checking NK cells in uterine lining, as this is the only thing I haven't tested and one clinic said it was likely to be an issue! (I'll try anything really! That's how they get you when it's all private!!)

Ahh. But hopefully this one works! I'm trying to stay hopeful! You have one week to go! And I have 8 days! Eeeek!

Anoncasper profile image
Anoncasper

Thats great that you have so many frozen! You just need that special one to implant 🥰

I think I'll see how we get on with the NHS cycles first and then look at private and the tests but hopefully this one works.

I'm feeling pretty crampy today and my boobs are pretty sore but that could be the meds too. Its so annoying that the symptoms from the meds and pregnancy are so similar.

How are you feeling today? x

LuxFleur profile image
LuxFleur

Yes. Any "symptom" you feel could be from the hormone treatment, or could mean it worked, or that it didn't. They is truly NO way to tell. I know it's really hard but the best thing to do is to NOT symptom watch. Just try to take care of yourself and don't test until official test day. Feeling nothing could mean anything. Feeling a lot of things could mean anything. Cramps, sore boobs, spotting, tiredness, irritability. There is truly no correlation, unfortunately. Just try to make it through, I know it's hard.

Anoncasper profile image
Anoncasper in reply toLuxFleur

The 2WW is such a testing time. You are correct though, there is no way of knowing.

You'd think that having been through it twice already, I should know this, but it is so difficult not to symptom watch or over analyse everything.

I have never tested early as I dont want any false results as i'd be too dissappointed. Fingers crossed this time is it. xx

Hi Casper, how are you doing? Not long till you know now!!! Eeeek x

Anoncasper profile image
Anoncasper in reply toLSandJ

Hi LSandJ I’m feeling a bit deflated today. I’m 10dp5dt and I’ve had cramping since day 7 through to today with sore boobs and bloating. All symptoms I had when my previous tests were negative. So not feeling optimistic 😢

How are you doing? Xx

LSandJ profile image
LSandJ

Funnily enough, exactly the same. I have been trying not to symptom spot as I've had them all before with no luck. But it's impossible not. Even if I tell myself 'it means nothing', I still get a bit excited as it 'could' mean something. I had really sore boobs and nipples a few days back, and some mild cramping. But it has stopped now and that's exactly what happened before. I've been knowing that the symptoms were just from the progesterone as it was so high. And now I'm guessing it's dropped (as it was high cos it was fresh n they collected so many). I'm thinking if it had worked there would be an increase in hormones still and they wouldn't go away. However I then flit to knowing so many people don't have ANY symptoms yet. And I've seen posts on here about people being shocked as their symptoms disappeared and it was still positive. So I'm holding on to a little hope. We have to remember many people who try naturally don't feel symptoms at all, we are only hyper aware because it's ivf. So I am hoping and just trying not to think too much. So hard though. I'm thinking of testing tomorrow as they trigger would be out my system by then and it would only be 3 days before test day, so with an early test, pretty sure it would be accurate!!!!?!

Anoncasper profile image
Anoncasper in reply toLSandJ

I’m the same. I’m putting a lot of my symptoms down to the meds, including the constipation 🙈 I think that’s what’s making me bloated.

I know what you mean. Some women get symptoms and some don’t. Some have symptoms and then they disappear etc. It’s so frustrating sometimes.

If I didn’t have IVF and felt like this I would be knicker checking everyday for my period.

You are brave wanting to test. I can’t bear the thought of testing but then the torture of my mind is getting the better of me.

I think you will get a definite answer testing today as the trigger should be out of your system xx
