Should I wait until my cycle is back to normal?πŸ€”

Hello again,Just wanting to hear about any similar experiences of messed up cycles after failed transfers to put my mind at ease...

I'm coming to the end of my natural cycle following two back to back failed FETs and waiting to start my next FET cycle, but things are all weird. I chart my BBT and know I ovulated around day 13, but from day 17 I've had light spotting continuously (And...I can guarantee I'm not pregnant as my husband has azoospermia!). I'm now on day 23 and expecting period next week and the start of my next FET cycle.

I've been to the GP for some bloods and swabs and waiting results. I'm just not sure what to do about my next planned FET as the plan was to do a natural cycle with just a little progesterone (lubion).

Clinic are pretty non-commited as usual and have said it isn't a problem. Does anyone have any similar stories and successes?

Thank you as always and sending you lots of positive vibes wherever you're at

Xx

Hello Minnie I had my failed transfer on February, and I had to wait two month more to make sure I have ovulation. Currently waiting for transfer number 2 next Wednesday. You just have to wait for you ovulation becuase will come , but unfortunately it cost another month waiting or two. I gave my body time to regenerate after all this hormones , your ovulation can be couple days later after failed transfer . Just wait and everything will come back naturally and obviously I know it's not easy . I hope I helped a little bit.

Thank you πŸ’•

Minniemouse88 Hey I'm kind of in the same position. I have had the failed embryo transfere and a really heavy period after that ended in spotting for about 7 days after the actual period. I tested after and ovualted quite quickly. Now I've had no bleeding but period cramps ever since. And sore boobs. I also want my frozen embryos probably put in in next couple of months. Without medication I'm hoping. But yeah I'm also not sure when to do this. My clinic just say I have to be ovulating again which I am. I think maybe about 2 periods and if you have been ovulating again then it should be fine. But I wouldn't transfere if there's any spotting going on. I think all the meds mess up our periods and can change them for a bit. Hope you are doing well xxx

Hi Lovely

Did you have a withdrawal bleed after the FET and then a further "natural" bleed or is the cycle off the back of the withdrawal bleed?

Hi Skittles, lovely to hear from you. I hope you are doing okay?

Yes, I had my withdrawal bleed after last failed FET and this is my first natural cycle. Currently on day 23 and still very slight spotting and cramps. Tbh, I just think my body is confused by the lack of synthetic progesterone this month after two months of 800mg of the stuff and it's probably throwing a tantrum. Hoping the clinic can guide me on my day 3 scan but just know they'll put the onus on me to decide!

Your next Day 1 should act as a reset and when the clinic scan you they should know more. The general consensus seems to be to wait 3 cycles for a reset but my clinic usually doesn't mind me starting sooner than that so long as the scans indicate that things look okay. I had a diagnostic cycle (ERA), which mimics an FET, in January. I had the same issue with spotting which started after ovulation. I asked my clinic if this had any bearing on the plan. They said spotting on wiping (ie light spotting) was not of concern but if I had any fresh red bleeding I was to let them know (however note that I was taking a Day 21 injection so the plan was a bit different).

Thank you for this. Good to know it may be a hiccup rather than a disaster. Looks like this is going to be a short cycle for me (24 days rather than my usual 27) so plan to just see what clinic says. Thank you for keeping me sane 😊 xx

Hi Minnie. What ended up happening for you? Again I have had spotting since around day 18 and am on day 22 now, it gets heavier then peters off. Hope you're doing okay xx

Hi Skittles, Nice to hear from you. We're tentatively going ahead with a natural cycle plus lubion, however...

I've been for my day 10 scan today. All looks fine but looks as though ovulation will probably fall on Tuesday, which means we'll not be able to transfer our blastocyst this month as my clinic doesn't open Sundays. It may be for the best, because I'll have another month to see what happens in the luteal phase with the spotting.

I hope you're doing okay. My clinic didn't seem too worried by the spotting when I told them. They just put it down to 'one of those things'- it still bothers me a bit but I'm beginning to accept things will never be wholly perfect.

I waited one extra month longer, just buy clear blue test for ovulation 4 fertility days . So you can see flashed face on test so you gonna now your ovulation is coming and after kind of 5 days you gonna have solid face. Just wait and be patient . I was mentally ready on April do another round but my body no. You just have to synchronise together.

Thanks Honey, I definitely ovulated this month so I think it's a luteal phase issue for me. Wishing you all the best for your next cycle xx

Hi Minnie, I'm a little reassured reading your post because my cycle has gone a bit nuts. I did 2 back to back FET's in Jan and Feb. Modified natural so just trigger and progesterone pessaries. Since then I've had really short cycles of 21 days, 25 days and 23 days. my period normally is very regular 26/27 days. I asked the fertility nurse was it a case that with all the added progesterone that my body has stopped making as much of it but she said that was unlikely unless I was very sensitive. I don't really know what's happening but it's unusual for me and I'm also hoping to do another transfer next month. So it seems that FET's can throw it out a bit! Wishing you luck on your next one !
