Hi all, currently working through all of my online consent forms and reading the numerous risks...I appreciate all of the risks of a double embryo transfer, however, we do not want a lot of waste embryos. I also lost twins at 11 weeks in June last year, whilst this was heartbreaking I was overjoyed that we had twins.
Has anybody else elected for a double embryo transfer and did your clinic allow for this or try and talk you out of it?
I am under 30 and know that legally you can have 2 but they obviously recommend eSET for good reason.

I just tick the 2 on the consents form and then we decide once we know what we have from the round if its doubles or singles (or a mixture) that we transfer. They will likely tell you 1 embryo only unless there’s a reason why not to but I’ve had a few double transfers, one I had to sign to say it was against their advice but another 2 they were happy for me to do (as by then we had a couple of negatives and losses) so it’s really individual circumstances. My last round we had a double transfer too as one wasn’t good enough for freezing anyways so they said we could put it back in along with the good quality embryo. Good luck xx
Hi Emjh. Why not have a read of our fact sheet on Single Embryo Transfer, it might help you. Www.fertilitynetworkuk.org and go to Information. Good luck. Diane
