Hi everyone, I was just wondering does anyone experience hayfever and is it ok to treat it whilst doing IVF?
I’m currently on my last few days of birth control and I’ll be starting medications for DE transfer in May. I had my down reg injection yesterday too. I’ve an almighty migraine and wondering is it just the hormones or maybe hayfever as it was warm yesterday?! I’m prone to migraines and hayfever…Grrrr I gave in and took Solpadeine Max but now I’ve belly ache! I found Solpadine the only tablet to work but Dr said they are addictive so use paracetamol. Any tips!

Make sure drinking plenty of fluids as dehydration can cause headaches & can worsen symptoms of migraine .Also ensure getting enough sleep As you say could be hay fever so ask at your local pharmacy for advice being sure to mention you are on IVF treatment Try vaseline around your nostrils to trap the pollen - sounds weird but can help - wear wrap round sunglasses to stop pollen getting in your eyes
I’ve been told only paracetamol as a pain killer, somethings (like Ibrofen) can affect the womb lining so you should check with clinic. I don’t think Ive asked about antihistamine’s actually 🤔 will need to next time I’m in as it’s getting that time of year for sure!
I always get migraines with down reg but the tree pollen count is really high just now so it could be that too lovely. Hope it eases up soon! Xx
I’ve emailed the clinic today to check. I read up on tree pollen, it’s super high last few days. And when I think about it…I’ve gone for a walk in our local forest with our dog so that’s prob it! No forest dog walks for me! Our clinic has advised before on migraine, best to take paracetamol for lining etc.
many thanks for reply, I didn’t really think much about the trees! 🥰
hi sjlrun I’ve just had my embryo transfer my hayfever has gone bad last two days. I’ve been told I have to have something prescribed by my doctor no pharmacist will sell me anything.
First I asked my clinic an they said they’re fine but when I looked in back of boxes they say don’t use, so that’s the reason for me asking different pharmacies. I’m just gonna see if I can get something off my G.P, if I was you I’d ask yours for something an only take paracetamol for pain relief.
Hope everything goes well for you an you manage to get something for the hayfever xx
Thanks for sharing your experience, I emailed the clinic so I should hear something 2m. It’s eased a little today, Ive also realised that Ive been taking our dog to the forest for walk which has prob led to this!
