Hi, I'm currently on my 2ww, 6dp2dt and have been told not to take my tablets for hayfever. However , I'm really struggling with it at the moment. Does anyone know if there are alternatives I can use or other help to get rid of the symptoms of hayfever?? I would hate for anything to have an effect on this ivf round of course so if theres nothing I will put up with it all but just thought I'd ask. Many thanks

One thing that helps a bit is to smear Vaseline around the rims and just inside of your nostrils - it helps to trap the pollen so you don't react to it as much. Good luck xx
Hi Ozma, I dont have any answers sorry but I'm exactly the same. I'm 7dp5dt and have been suffering for the last few days. Hopefully the wise ladies on here can give us some tips 😊
Sending you best wishes for this cycle, I have my fingers crossed for you 🤞
Have you checked with your clinic? They told me I was allowed piritin because it’s different from other two types. It’s a chlorophenamine maleate Check?
You can also get a nasal thing that’s suitable for during pregnancy . Check out the stuff it boots and read the labels. There’s defo a couple of things that you could get. I just can’t remember the names right now. Maybe google it, that’s how I found out about it.
Hope your symptoms ease soon 😘
Thank you, I will check with them and keep a look out for the nasal spray. Thanks
Looked up hay fever relief during ivf and this came up:
using nose barrier balm or Vaseline under the nose (to stop pollen getting in)
...
Your doc may recommend:
corticosteroid nasal spray – such as Flixonase, Beconase or Nasonex.
antihistamine nasal spray – also known as Rhinolast.
antihistamine eye drops – such as Otrivine or Optilast.
I used Beconase and vaseline. The beconase was amazing x
I asked my clinic, they told me ask the pharmacist. The pharmacist told my husband it was illegal to provide anything without a prescription. Argh.
I’m not sure if nasal sprays will work for me, hay fever sets off my asthma, so it’s not my nose or eyes but my ability to breath and I find that quite important.
Do you need an inhaler ?
I already have inhalors and my asthma is controlled. It is just an allergic reaction to pollen that effects my breathing And causes wheezing and shortness of breath. A reliever can help temporarily but only for short period, it doesn’t solve in the way 1 small antihistamine tablet does a day preventing any wheezing during spring and summer . But you fight to get an embie onboard you don’t want to take anything that might risk it.
