this time I couldn’t stay abroad long enough to get my beta test after my FET. Al my ivf treatments have been abroad so I have no idea if my GP would be able to offer me a pregnancy blood test . How do others do this when you go abroad for your transfer but return to uk before the two weeks have passed ?
Many thanks

My clinic in the UK don’t do blood tests anyway, so I have done them privately through online test facilities, like medichecks. GPs don’t routinely check hcg levels if you fall pregnant, I think EPUs might do blood tests, but only if there are concerns not as standard.
My GP helped us out when we returned but it took a 4 days for results to come back which was way too long! So next time, we went to my former IVF clinic in UK, they kindly did HCG and progesterone on day 10, it cost £130 and I got results later in afternoon.
I have done lots of blood tests including HCG through Medichecks. It’s an at-home fingerprick (you collect about 0.5ml blood). It takes 2-3 days after they receive it (shipping to them is overnight and included in the cost) to get a result with an interpretive comment from a doctor. HCG is £55 xx
We used medicheck, fingerprick required a bit of a deep breath but otherwise straightforward. You could probably get the test at a private fertility clinic, private hospital or maybe one of the private ultrasound providers.
I googled "beta hcg test near me", a local private hospital in my area provided that test and I received the result the next working day. I would recommend you to search it in your area, in case there are private hospitals provide the test.
Alternatively you can check Superdrug, you can book the test through them as well.
There were 2 baby news in the office around the same time I got my results.
We still got 5 embryos but I don’t think I can’t do it again … I feel very tired and old !
My friend’s sister and another acquaintance just got their first baby at age 50 last year … not that age yet but I don’t see myself trying until then …
