I discovered today I have lost 1.5kg in the last month. Obviously will be making an appt with the doctor tomorrow. Weight loss is listed as a side effect of Progynova but just wondering how often it happens and to what degree; gain seems more common. Has anyone else had this happen?
Also please don’t say I’m lucky- I’m quite worried about it. I have had a post-infectious malabsorption syndrome after food poisoning a few years ago and this could be the same as I was unwell a month ago. Really worried about my folate status given I had a FET 6 days ago.

hi, I had weight loss on progynova too. My understanding is that as women age and estrogen decreases, we put on weight. I’ve just turned 44 and probably peri menopausal so impact was significant. So when I was taking progynova, my metabolism kicked in a bit more and I lost some weight. I nearly lost a stone. I also sleep much better when taking progynova. Hope yours is also just the good side effect and nothing sinister but for peace of mind, speak to your doctor. Good luck
Thanks for the reply I spoke to my clinic this morning and they were dismissive of it being Progynova, but then said no one really has weight changes either up or down due to it during IVF, and I know that is absolutely not true as loads of people report weight gain! I have an appt with the GP this morning to discuss. It just seems a bit of a coincidence to me, but then I also had this gut bug just before starting Progynova so who knows. I have also had nausea and really bad indigestion due to it, but don't think I have really eaten less. xx
