FET and ovulation

Morning,

I’m due to have transfer in a week and I feel like I’ve ovulated today. Everything is indicating that I have. I thought the medication was meant to stop that. It takes ages for my clinic to get back to me, i do have a scan tomorrow. But was wondering if anyone knew if the cycle gets cancelled if that’s the case?

thank you!

I just had accupuncture and she said thy it could also just be the extra eostrogen and try not to worry. I have a scab tomorrow to check my lining. Hope you are ok, this is horrible!

hey ladies I might be missing something but it’s fine to ovulate before a FET - were you supposed to trigger?

This happened to me and I ovulated before trigger so didn’t need it. They will just check bloods/scans to make sure lining ok and go check you have ovulated then will do the transfer. I think depending on how many days your embryo is determined roughly when they do the transfer. Hope all is ok for you but I’d try not to worry. Xx

Hi Anzt, can you do an ovulation test to check? The scan tomorrow will confirm if the follicle has collapsed signalling ovulation, but it’s good to also tell them the result. My clinic asked for self test everyday x

Hi. I think they can check your bloods too to tell whether you have ovulated. LH levels and possibly progesterone. It happened to me before. I was taking estrogen tablets 6mg a day in prep for FET and still ovulated. Apparently it can happen to a small percent of women (something like 5%). We could not proceed with FET in that cycle. The next cycle they put me on downregulation meds to prevent me from ovulating again so in addition to estrogen I had to take buserelin injections for about 2 weeks (if I recall correctly). It was a longer process. I think from the start of downregulation to FET it took about a month.

I had a fet cycle abroad and when they scanned me (straight off the plane) the consultant was alarmed to see a big follicle. She said if I've already ovulated then cycle has to be cancelled. Sent me for emergency bloods and thankfully I hadn't. If I was to ovulate between that scan and transfer that would apparently be fine, but if I'd already ovulated then they wouldn't know when it had happened and wouldn't be able to confidently know that best time for transfer would be in 5 days which was the plan.
