I wanted to come on and give u all an update as you have given me lots of support and good wishes. Unfortunately yesterday when I went for what should have been by 9 week scan and I got told my pregnancy had stopped at 6 weeks, I am absolutely gutted and currently off work as not coping too well, it hurts a lot more than I ever thought it would. Yesterday I couldn't think what I was doing but I have decided to have medical management with the tablets. I need to call them today and if u don't mind, I have a couple of questions if anyone knows, do I have to go back to the clinic to get the tablets or can someone pick them up for me, I can't face going back today. Also, is the pain as bad as everyone says? I m really grateful to everyone on here xxx ❤️

Hey lovely, so sorry to hear this. I had a chemical with my first so just stopped my tablets, so unsure about further along if someone else could collect, maybe give your clinic a message. What I did want to say though is I got pregnant on my further to cycles and had successful pregnancies. So you can be lucky again ❤️

We have been thinking about you , and we are with you. You can do this, because you are strong and not giving up easily. Just take a deep breath. Its ok to be upset.

Oh I am so very sorry for your loss, Cheeky! I have been there, it is the most heart-wrenching moment when the sonographer tells you there is no heartbeat anymore, I hope you have a lot of support around you right now. With my last loss I tried all three types of management, as I had some placental tissue remaining after the main bleed, the EPAU suggested medical management as I felt very apprehensive about surgery. It may differ from trust to trust but where I live, it is actually the nurses who will insert the tablets for you. I then had to remain in the unit for a short while so they could check for any adverse reactions and then I was free to go home and wait for the bleed. I can completely relate to not wanting to go back to the EPAU and hopefully the nurses will explain everything to you when you call them. I cannot speak to how painful this experience is as the tablets did not work for me and I had to have a D&C in the end. I had natural management with my first three losses where I was 10, 11 and 8 weeks along respectively. I have a four year old son and felt that with my first two at 10 and 11 weeks it felt similar to labour pains but nothing you cannot manage with some painkillers if you so choose. Please make sure you have someone with you when the bleeding starts as even though your baby may have stopped growing at 6 weeks, all the other tissue will have kept growing thinking it is supporting a viable pregnancy. I don't want to scare you at all but realistically, the blood and tissue loss will be heavier than the periods you're used to. It is different for everyone, it may really just be like a heavy period and I am sure it very much depends on how far along you are but it will be reassuring to have someone close by who can support you. I am so sorry this is happening to you, lovely. Stay strong, you will get through these sad times! xxx

I don't know the answers to your questions as mine stopped much earlier (even though I hadn't realised as the meds meant I didn't bleed) so mine could just go by stopping the meds, but I just wanted to say that I am so so sorry for what you're going through - I've seen your posts and know it's been an incredibly stressful and anxious time for you. Right now I'm not sure there's much anyone can say that will help as you'll probably be in shock and I felt numb, and then angry and despairing tbh for quite a while after. It does go but right now concentrate on your health, then grieve and don't worry about work or anything else x

I’m so sorry to hear your news. I had a very similar experience in March of miscarrying at about 9 weeks with baby measuring a little behind.

I had been told at a scan at the clinic that baby had a slow heart beat and I started bleeding before the repeat scan a week later. Everyone is different but the pain of the actual miscarriage was tolerable in all honesty but I took some cocodamol as it did hurt and wasn’t fun. Like others have said, it’s much heavier than a normal period but they say to go to an and e if you are filling a pad an hour. If it helps, I had a large takeaway later in the night I miscarried which I was able to eat without issue.

I was later prescribed medical management after I retained some placenta which refused to shift. I was sent home with the medication to take myself with a follow up a week later.

My partner collects my prescriptions all the time (chemist on his way home) so I can’t see it being a problem for someone to get them for you.

Please ask away if you need to because miscarrying is such a miserable and lonely time!
