Probiotics before FET

Hi everyone, as I had a failed FET recently, I am thinking to take probiotics before I started next transfer.

Does anyone has good experience after taking probiotics? and can anyone recommend a good brand for oral probiotics?

Thanks XX 🙏

I take bio kult daily, just figured it helps with the tummy with all the drugs that we have to take for IVF.

In my experience, probiotics are a very good idea. I take Lactofolor (it's a European chewable probiotic that I get on ebay). Good luck!

I took garden of life prenatal probiotics. They are expensive but I feel totally worth it. Wishing you all the best xx

Hi

Hope you’re well, I’m sorry your last FET failed.

I have IBS, so have looked quite extensively into probiotics and have spoken to a couple of professionals , one is a renown gastroenterology researcher/consultant. Their advice was, unless you’re going to pay a fortune for extensive testing and have a probiotic tailor made to you, then not to bother. Apparently there are millions of different bacteria in our guts, so any imbalance is highly unlikely to be treated by a generic ‘off the shelf’ product, as these only contain a very small spectrum of bacteria. They likened the odds of any real impact, to winning the lottery 😩

If you have the finances, it may be worth looking into personalised testing?

Having said that… probiotics are natural so they should cause no harm if you do opt to try them. You never know! 🤞🏼

Good luck with it all xx

Hi, very sorry to hear about your failure, just like you I recently had a failure (5th failure), for this last transfer I took probiotics but it still failed. I know we are always looking out for things that will improve our chances of success. Sometimes we go ahead and try things, so we don’t feel guilty, maybe it would have worked if we had tried it. I have tried so many things research/people/doctors have recommended. I have come to terms that it works without you putting so much efforts. It’s a hard journey! Good luck for your next one❤️
