I am 41 and just started IVF. I am on day 8 of my injections ( Gonal F and menopur from day 1 and Fyremadel added from day 6). I had a scan today, however my follicles are on the small sides between 6-10cm. Has anyone been in this position around that time. How long did you have to take the injections for ? I am a bit nervous and stressed out. Any information will be helpful. Thank you

Hi Tour_girl. You may have to try up to another 5-7 days before they increase. Hope they do, but if not they may abandon the cycle before egg collection so you don’t lose out. That’s looking on the darker side of things, so let’s keep positive and grow follies grow! Diane

Apart from one or two lead follicles, mine never did anything until day 10, so I ended up on higher meds for an extra week. Eventually more came through and caught up but the clinic also discussed cancelling the cycle if that hadn't happened. I think each round can be very different (I just got one egg on my most recent round compared to a lot more previously) and the first round can be a bit of an experiment to see how you respond and what's the best protocol for you.
