Spicy food after FET! help
I’m very very sure they spicy food will do nothing to impact your outcome. I can’t remember my exact menu for the week I did my fets but I’m 100% sure I ate curries (I’m vegetarian and eat them regularly). My fet was successful and I’m only now starting to limit spicy food for indigestion reasons (bloomin chilli burritos). Fingers crossed for you x
Defo do not worry ❤️ as long as no alcohol and things it's fine. Think of all the countries that eat spicy food! Population would be extremely low if spicy food could effect implantation 🥰
I think you maybe need to speak to someone about your anxietys. I went to see a councillor a while back and it really helped. Stress and worry will have more of an impact on transfer than eating spicy food lemon grass and rice.
FET or no FET all this worrying isn’t good for you 😢 have you tried the calm app it was really helpful for me in the morning and at a night also your clinic may have access to a counsellor that might be worth speaking to at this point lovely 🤗💜
Ps no spicy food, just like white rice, lemongrass, arguing, being sick etc, won’t make any difference to the FET outcome. Everything’s fine you got this 💪🏼and no matter what the outcome it’s nothing you’ve done that will make it implant or not xx
thank you Twiglet2 I need to get back onto using apps and counselling really suffering I just don’t feel like it’s going to work out and that I’ve done so many things to ruin my chances already! Tanks for your help xx
There is defo a chance it wont work and that’s something you do have to prepare yourself for as well as a chance it will work and with that comes more things to think about and worry about but in both scenarios it’s absolutely nothing you’ve done or didn’t do 🤗 it might be a good idea to use the next few days to get yourself in a calmer place to deal with the result either way and not beat yourself up anymore as trust me it’s a slippery slope xx
Good luck! I’ve never heard of spicy food ever being an issue, think about all the babies born in a hot country where everyone eats spicy food. Sounds like an old wives tale. Rest assured it won’t affect anything. At this point, just taking it easy is the most important thing. I know it sounds easier than it is but do try to relax, do some meditating - something relaxing to listen to. You got this! X
The only food that any clinician says to avoid is the food that the NHS recommends avoiding whilst you’re pregnant and even then it’s more of the risk of infection you can get from the food (salmonella etc) than the actual food product itself. Only other thing they say to avoid is alcohol and heavy lifting/strenuous exercise.
My mum is a midwifery assistant and on the daily she sees many women who are having babies and they are hard drug users. If they can get pregnant with some of the worst stuff you can put into your body, food at this point is going to have the least impact on the outcome.
Please don’t beat yourself up about every decision you have made during this TWW, as others have said, from the moment that embryo has been transferred, you’ll have very little control over what the result may be. Trust me it sucks, I’ve had 3 failed FETs and with each time I’ve always questioned myself “what if I did this? Etc” and that form of thinking will only drive you mad during through what is an already stressful time.
When I spoke to my counsellor she had a great summary of how to see the whole IVF process:
You (and your partner if applicable) have chosen to move to an island, every rule on the island is completely different to the mainland. It may anger/upset you when you think of what happens on the mainland but as the rules are not the same, you cannot compare your time on the island to anyone on the mainland.
I know it’s hard but try to stay calm during your wait, do whatever that brings you joy, don’t hold any guilt for doing that.
You got this x
