Positive Ovulation Test - No period or positive pregnancy test

Hello there!

I have irregular periods and took 1 round of Letrozole to help my ovulate. I received a positive ovulation test (used a clear blue test with a solid smiley face and another test with 2 lines). I was excited as it appeared the medication helped me ovulate! It's now been 3 weeks after the positive ovulation test, and I do not have a period or a positive pregnancy test.

This would be my 2nd pregnancy, therefore I have some idea of pregnancy symptoms. During the 2 weeks between a positive ovulation test and negative pregnancy test, I was feeling slight breast pain and nauseous. During this timeframe I also started taking progesterone cream which may aided in the symptoms.

Is it possible that I received 2 false positive ovulation test? It seems unlikely. Is it possible to ovulation but not get pregnant and not get a period? Again, seems unlikely. Looking for any guidance or insight on what transpired here. Thanks!

hi are you still on the progesterone? Sometimes that can ‘mimic’ a pregnancy as it’s when your progesterone levels drop after ovulation that a period begins so that might have delayed things a little perhaps your consultant can do a blood test to check your levels of progesterone and oestrogen? Xx
