Does anyone have any experience of what happens when snow disrupts transfer day?I'm due for my first transfer on Friday and there's snow in the forecast. I'm trying to keep myself together about it and have thought about booking an air BnB near clinic, but don't even know if clinic staff would get there. We have quite a distance to travel so a bit worried about it all.
Weather always catches me out for major life events. Booked my wedding in July 21 and it threw it down!
Praying it's not too bad on Friday but forecast is typically very uncertain.
😟 Xx

I live a distance away from my clinic and would not want to risk travelling from afar on the day of egg collection or embryo transfer as it can be a fairly anxious day as it is. Would suggest booking an air b and b or a hotel near to your clinic just to remove a little of that additional stress xx
Thanks Skittles! Yes, we're planning on booking it tonight as a contingency. Hoping the weather improves though. Just wasn't sure if clinic would cancel, but I guess they'll contact us. Xx
hello, if it was me I would stay in a travel lodge or something close by the night before then you don’t have such a worry or a hectic next morning. The last thing you need on transfer day is stress. I’m Aberdeenshire and the weather is meant to be awful this week xxx
Thank you all for your solidarity. Hotel booked and just hoping that clinic keeps running through the snow if it arrives at all. This has been one stressful night replanning. I suppose it's good practice for if we are ever fortunate enough to have children! 🤞Xx
years ago I just made it in for an appointment as the ‘beast from the east’ hit. The clinic were skeleton staff and just doing what they could for collections and transfers and a few of them slept at the hospital to make sure there were some staff in for those who did make it. My bloods from the appointment turned out I needed more meds and a lovely nurse who lived near me brought it home with her and we walked and met in the middle to exchange the meds! Great idea to stay nearby just to be on the safe side for Friday but hopefully it’s all hype from the news as usual 🤞🏽xx
