I'm on my second cycle of letrozole for ovulation induction and this one is unmonitored.
The nurse assured me there were minimal side effects, but reading the leaflet I got a bit worried as ovarian cysts were mentioned as a possible side effect!
I was wondering how common this was, if anybody had experienced similar, and how it impacted the treatment cycles?
It may be another thing to worry about or I may be being irrational...
Many thanks

Hey, not sure if this will help but I took letrozole for 2 cycles trying naturally. My progesterone levels went into overdrive on both rounds so I had to stop it because of a risk of ovary hyperstimulation. I have since had multiple scans and my ovaries are all good! I was worried too that it may have effected them xx
Thank you for sharing that! I’m actually in need of extra progesterone so that kind of response may actually help me. Reassuring to know there were no lasting side effects for you
I actually went on to get a bfp a couple of cycles after so I’m sure it had something to do with that as well. I have my fingers crossed for you lovely xx
Oh that’s fantastic news for you! I’m hoping the pregnancy stuck and you’re now well on your way through
I’m one down of six medicated cycles before being recommended something more invasive like IUI or IVF, which I’m not ready for yet, which is why I’m probably over analysing these cycles x
I had 2 lots of letrozole, all unmonitored but it was a low dose. I felt no different on it, no cysts and I have pcos, unfortunately didn't work for me but I have other complex issues and some mfi. Cysts are a possibility on a normal cycle but doesn't happen very often- they've just got to tell you of any rare side effects
