letrozole 2.5

Hi there I have recently had a failed IVF cycle and wanted to try naturally until I was ready for another as the fertility consultant said I can get pregnant naturally. I did not try the fertility drugs before going on to my ivf treatment and thought it might be a good idea to give it a shot while I wait. Can anyone tell me if they have had letrozole before ? Did you get any side effects ? Any successful pregnancy from it ?

Thank you :)

My husband is on 2.5mg letrozole a day to treat a hormone problem, he hasn't had any side effects from it x

Hiya. Prior to having IVF I had 6 cycles on letrozole 2.5mg daily but unfortunately no luck with getting pregnant. I had no side effects which was positive.

Unfortunately it didn’t work for me at all :(

I’m sorry to hear that. I just thought might aswell give it a go while I’m waiting for my next few cycles before ivf round 2

Hi, I’ve had three rounds of Letrozole. I got pregnant on the first round but unfortunately had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. But I am currently 10 weeks pregnant after my third round, I’ve had a couple of scans and everything is looking good!

I didn’t have any side affects at all with it and was on 2.5mg so the lowest dose. The last round they thought they may have to abandon due to too many follicles growing but it’s all worked out well so far.

Good luck and if you have any questions let me know ❤️ Xxx

I’m so glad things worked out at the end. I have been prescribed the low dosage. I had a failed embroyo transfer so I thought I’d try with letrozole while I wait for my next ivf cycle and maybe it’ll be in my favour. Did you try naturally on letrozole or did you have an iui? Also did you nee to use a hsg trigger injection ? I’m just having the tablets I don’t have any scans to check the follicles

We tried naturally I don’t think my clinic do IUI. Do you have periods naturally? I didn’t which is why the gave me Letrozole for ovulation induction, but if you do it should be much easier to track.

I have periods naturally however they are unsure if I ovulate regularly. How did you know that you too many follicles? Did you go for a scan? I will naturally too 🤞🏽

Yes I went for scans at my clinic for them to monitor when I might ovulate as my periods/ovulation was so unpredictable. So probably had two or three each cycle for them to measure follicle etc. I hope it all goes well for you 🙂
